I have been unable to get my refund of the Kirby Vacuum purchased on August 19, 2007. Due to the company Freedom Enterprise not showing up for two appointments scheduled to make the return and when they finally showed up they did not have my refund. I was then told it would be put in the mail. I have made more than 20 calls to the company to settle up with my refund. I made my request for refund the day after the purchase.

It is now September 11, 2007 and I have still not received my refund. On the contract it says a refund will be returned within 10 days of the request to return. So now i do not have the vacuum or my money. The company has one person answering the phone and she says she has no idea where anyone is at all times and knows nothing of the business.

It was a terrible experience and I recommend to all~NEVER LET A KIRBY SALESMAN INTO YOUR HOME. They forced there way in by offering a SERVICE when really they were selling a product. How deceitful?

I too was suckered/worn down into signing myself into the purchase of the Kirby.  I really did want it, but not at the price that it would cost after interest started accumulating on my loan, and not with the way that I felt towards the salespeople...the vacuum itself is a good product, in my honest opinion.

Anyway, read the info about those 3 days.  I did, and decided that rather than paying for a registered letter to go to Freedom Enterprises, I'd go myself.  I called ahead (had to call a few times, so that the recording wouldn't pick up my call), and found out that I could bring the machine and my contract to their office, and get out of the contract immediately.  The recording tells the location of the business, which was actually easy to find, and they have good hours.

I was still wary, wondering if they'd refuse to accept the vacuum and send those salespeople back to my home.  Nope!  Everyone was very pleasant and in a matter of minutes, the machine was returned and everything was taken care of.  I felt really pleased with it all, and told them how appreciative I was, and that I would consider my experience with them to be very positive, and that I would consider purchasing a vacuum from them in the future, when my financial situation improves.

Just wanted to put out there that there'll be an address listed on the back of your contract that tells you who to contact for a return.  Perhaps I'm lucky that this office was registered with the Better Business Bureau, but regardless, I think that taking the machine/paperwork all back is easier than mailing in the form and hoping that they'll get it taken care of on their end before your 3 days is up!!!  It was about a 4 hour trip for us, with traffic and the return time, but worth knowing it was definitely taken care of was sooo worth it!  :)

Sounds to me like you have had a very negative experience with an independant Kirby office. I can't fathom as to why you have not recieved your refund at this point but there is certainly more to this than you are telling.

You have a contract and specific remedies to cancelling your agreement. I wouldn't wait another second to hire an attorney or even a small claims case against these people. Hell, I would just roll up into their office and find out what's going on.

Not all Kirby offices run like this one that you have described. However the story doesn't make sense and it leads me to believe that you have left out some factual basis to make this complaint credible. The solution seems crystal clear to me.

You have legal remedies. Enforce them.

Freedom Enterprises Kirby Vacuum Deceptive Techniques to get you to sell Kirby Vacuums

These people run deceptive advertisements such as "RED BULL, MONSTER & ROCKSTAR, High Energy, desire to work hard. We need you immediately. Full training provided. 1600/mo+ 1000$ sign on bonus" This makes it look like you're going to be advertising for these companies. When you get there for the interview, they want you to sell Kirby's. I called Red Bull, Monster and RockStar. Hopefully they will go after these guys for copyright infringement or something.

The first time that I responded to these types of ads, the ad read "Love loud rock music? 650 needed $460-&900/week call now" I asked them what was the posistion that I was applying. They responded vaguely and said that It would be better to just come in for an interview and see where I best fit into the company.

Kirby sales have nothing to do with Red Bull, Monster, RockStar or loud rock music.

I have heard that there is a class action lawsuit that a Birmingham, Alabama attorney is trying to get together. If anyone knows about this please let me know on here. I will be happy to give any and all information that I have. I've called the Attorney General's office, the Secretary of state, those three companies, Private attorney's and the county prosecutors office. These people need to stop.

These people operate with corporation number 246-797 as MPQ, Inc. Their registered agent is Marcus Patrick Quinn. They have moved to 106 Commerce Pkwy Pelham, AL 35124. They have the same phone number.
