Complaint Review: Freedom Gold

Freedom Gold representative offered free gas, free plane tickets, coupons and discounts on several items. He offered a free trial period to check out their program but I never received that packet to take advantage of his offer. When I reviewed my checking account I saw that a fraudulent check of $149 had been deducted from my checking account.

What I remembered from my initial phone conversation with freedom gold was telling the young man I did not want to get charged. He assured me I wouldn't and that I would have plenty of time to review what they had to offer and cancel if I wasn't interested. I never got that chance.

I contacted my bank (great bank) and they suggested I contact Freedom Gold customer service to request a refund or explanation for the charges. When I contacted them they told me they where a legitimate company and that I had approved them to automatically deduct money from my account. I explained that I was supposed to have gotten a free trial period before being charged and he then told me I had agreed to a 7 day trail period.

In my initial conversation I never heard the gentlemen tell me I had a 7 day trial period, if I had I wouldn't have even accepted to review their product. I remember him telling me I would have a 25 to 28 (aprox) trial period.

Today I contacted their customer service department. The customer service rep played a recording of my initial conversation. He had to play it twice in order for me to hear the part when the man actually stated I had a 7 day free trial period. He deceived me by mentioning it only once (in a 30 minute or longer conversation) and following it with you'll receive a packet about Freedom gold within 7 to 8 days. How can you take advantage of a program you can't review until after your 7 day free trial period has terminated?

The recording has obviously been altered. Several key points in our conversation are missing or been misplaced. The Freedom GLD representatives where dishonest and misguiding. Their sales pitch is designed to confuse you and rip you off. Now, I'll initiate a police report and try to see what I can accomplish. I never thought I'd be made a fool of and hopefully I can do something about legally.
