Complaint Review: Freedom Mortgage

Freedom Mortgage Freedom Mortgage continues to say they dont receive payments. I had an existing mortgage company for over 20 yrs and NEVER had an issue. From Day one Freedom Mortgage was a problem. Not locating my checks. Charging late fees that were not owed. They do not respond back or resolve issues. mount laurel New Jersey

Freedom Morgage continually sends letters stating I am late in payments and owe more than I do.

I regulaly send payments ontime. I am not late.

Freedom mortgage also states they do not receive payments when in fact they do.

Each month I have to contact them, chase them and fight a fight due to their mistakes.

Since it is a regular basis I see a pattern and know now this is a very unprofessional company.

I have never had this problem with my previous mortgage lender. I was switched to Freedom without having input and I am furioius at the way my money is handled. They need to be serioiusly investigated.

There seems to be a rash of complaints with mortgage lenders lately not servicing their loans correctly.  This includes not applying payments timely to the account in order to collect late fees and other servicing errors.

The Dept of Justice has a lawsuit against several of the large mortgage servicers for these 'errors' including Ocwen and Wells Fargo and other big box banks. I have not heard of a lawsuit against Freedom Mortgage for servicing, but they have been fined for FHA lending violations. It's possible that the CFPB needs more complaints before they initiate a lawsuit against Freedom Mortgage for servicing violations.

Make your complaint to the CFPB here: consumerfinance.gov/complaint

The CFPB moves very fast. Get your documentation together before you file a complaint so you can show the servicing violations. If everyone that experienced these vilations filed a complaint, it would go a long way toward getting these rogue servicers to straighten up, in my opinon.

Another option is to refinace with a small lender that holds and services their own loans.

I hope you get justice.
