Complaint Review: Freedom Resource Inc

i was contacted at home on a saturday in july by a customer service representive for freedom resource. at that time the gentlemen from this company offered me a mastercard for 221.00 that would be directly drafted from my checking account on 8-31-02. and within 15 to 20 business days i would receive my new Mastercard with a credit limit of 2,500.00.

well after waiting a complete month after the funds were debited from my account and i had not received my call i call freedoms customer service and was told that there was a delay in sending me "my package". it took them to the end of october for me to get this package. well after the the 15-20 business days originally quoted to me.

at that time i ask if "my package" Included the mastercard i was promised and once again i got confirmation that yes it would and also if the credit limit was in fact 2,500.00.

it took them another 2 weeks to send me a parcel via us postal service. this package only had a letter stating they needed me to send them another 20 dollars as a stored fee.

When i call them to find out what they were requesting they them explained to me that this fee would be placed back to my card upon them receiving it. but as i read the little paper it stated that the mastercard was not in fact a credit card but something of a check card.

money would only be placed on the card if i made deposit to the mastercard.

I ask for a refund and i was told i would have to return the package when i received it.

I did return it and called to verify that they did get it in about a week.

a that time they informed me that a refund would be credited back to my account within the month. i wanted another week and called again and i was informed that i had to wait on a refund form.

after receiving the form and reading it. i found out i was still obligated to my refund minus 24.95 (restocking charge)

mind you they have had my money from 8-31-02 to present collecting intrest that i will never see nor will i ever get the 2500.00 dollar mastercard i was promised in july.

THIS COMPANY IS A COMPLETE AND TOTAL RIP OFF
