FreedomDebt.com not worth my time disapointed Houston Texas
I have beeb working with FreedomDebt.com for the past two weeks and thought they could help with my debt of over $24,000
They made claims that they could settle my debt and reduce my monthly payments. I informed them that my payments on a monthly basis were about three hundred dollars to my three creditors and couldnt afford to go higher than that.
After reviewing my situation they stated that they could get my debt down to a Whopping $19,000 and change to include there fees. OK? heres the kicker...my new monthly payments would be over $500.00 ....for the first five months and then get it down to AROUND $300 there after.
Please tell me Where does this make sense? If I could afford to make $500 payments, I wouldnt need a company like freedom Debt.com....
They also said that since one of my creditors was in Fact Key Bank which is owned by Citi that they werent able to negotiate with Citi and in turn not able to settle with them as with other Banks
I believe that there website is a little misleading...they do not claim that can help everyone and I am witness to that.

We currently don't have an office in Houston, I don't think this client contacted us. As the nations leading Debt Reduction company helping tens of thousands of clients and managing well over a billion in credit card debt, there are a lot of new companies with misleading "copy cat" names. We find that many clients inadvertently contact these companies after seeing us on both national and localized TV news and morning shows.
I am concerned about this comment, from someone who is clearly not even a client of our company. The payments we set up for one of our clients do not decrease after 3 months, we never quote a potential client that way, ever.
With $24,000 of credit card debt, someone would typically have a monthly payment direct to the credit card company as low as 2% of the total debt with low rates ($480.00 a month) to as high as 4% monthly with high interest rates (960.00 a month). We would typically structure a payment plan based anywhere from 24-36 months and estimate a settlement of usually around 55-65% of the total debt, INCLUDING fees. If we estimated at 65% and 36 months, the monthly payment would be $433 a month, which could save some clients over half on a monthly basis.
Every situation is different and we do not accept all cases. Clients must have a financial hardship (barely afford min payments, stuck in credit counseling, or already behind are hardship examples). We do settle with Citi, so the information posted is false, however different creditors settle for different amounts historically.
While there is no perfect solution, we do a very good job for tens of thousands of clients who truly want to get out of debt the most cost effective and shortest amount of time possible.
