It took several months from date of purchase to receive my freedom pop device. Which based on when this company started up is in and of itself a possible problem. Then after receiving it , it took hours to get it going and in my case since I dual boot decided to try Ubuntu which worked like a champ.

Most I ever got was 2 dots lit, much of the time only 1 dot. If an image was of any real size it was a return to the days of dial-up as the image slowly scrolled left to right and then repeat till image was completed. A webinar I tried to listen too was a complete disaster with numberous disconnects, audio losses, etc.

The support area at there web site is more like a FAQ and no easy way to either chat with a support person, send a email ticket or call.
In only 2 days of useage I racked up 275 megs  of useage against the 1 Gig that is free. If you tried not to use it you would  still be charged .99 cents a month, if you went over the 1 Gig, you would be charged .05 a meg. Sure there are several paid plans, but they pale in comparison to Comcast's basic 1.6Gigs which isn't even capped at the moment and even when it was it was 220 Gigs a month for at present if bundled is under $30 dollars for High Speed Internet and they throw in basic cable(30 channels).

So save yourself grief and money and by-pass this so-called "free" deal

Home Data Plan Speeds

Hello,

Occasionally before releasing a new product, in anticipation of its release, FreedomPop will make some devices available on a preorder basis. For the Freedom Hub Burst, our first foray into revolutionizing the home internet market, we began taking preorders in December and then released the product in March.

On the free 1GB plan with the Burst, users can expect speeds of 1.5 mbps. These speeds can increase with our paid 10GB plans. However, please note that coverage may affect download speeds. If users wish to use our pay-as-you-go option, it comes out to half a cent per MB - or $5 per 1GB. Furthermore, unlike other data providers, FreedomPop requires no contract - people may start, cancel, downgrade, or upgrade their plans at any time.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions. Thank you!
