FreedomPop Mis-leading deal on "free" 500MB of wifi hotspot - 4G only, 3G costs extra! Internet
First & foremost; There is ZERO customer service available from this company! They do not have a customer service email address or phone # published on their website - BIG RED FLAG.
Second: I found their customer service # on another site & you guessed it; on hold forever.
Ok, so I ordered their MiFi hotspot w/ 500MB of free monthly data. It arrived promptly, powered up & I was able to connect to it via wi-fi. I logged into the the device per the instructions, all going well so far.
Changed passwords, etc. The device is showing it is connected the 3G network & all should be working fine - EXCEPT - when I try to connect my laptop to the internet via the hotspot I get a message saying my account is not authorized for 3G?????
I do get an intermittent 4G connection, but it will not hold. Before ordering, I entered my address & their website says I was in the coverage zone.
Have tried contacting them for customer service - see above. Non-existent.
I can't believe I got suckered into ordering something from this company I'm always careful about doing my due diligence first. Wish I had checked here first.
Freedompop, I know you are watching this site - I'm tired of waiting on hold (as I type this). If you want to contact me to initiate a return/refund it would be in your best interest. I plan on filing formal complaints w/ BBB, FTC, DOJ and any other gov't agency that will bring he** to your business if you do not straigten up and run a legitimate business.
