I always think everything is a scam so Im especially pissed off at myself for falling into this trap! I recived a call around 7:00 am on a sunday. I was woken up and groggy. A lady said "good morning is this -- ?" Yes I replied. She continued "Im calling from free gifts America,I can see you have been making alot of purchases from HomeDepot and other businesses around the area" Why yes, I have I explained I just bought this house and it needs alot of work. "Well" she continued "I have good news for you. to show their thanks for your buisness we would like to send you a $1,000 gift certificate to spend however you like, is that O.K.?" Sure I replied. But whats the catch? "theres no catch" she said "only a $2.50 shipping & handling fee" O.K. I said eagerly. "Will you be paying that by check?" she asked. Yes, I said. "oh great! than to speed up the process I can take a check by phone. What is the check number that you will be using?" So, fumbling around I found my checkbook and read the number off the first check to her. "O.K. Mr. K now I will switch you to my supervisor for confirmation, Please dont hang up O.K.?"
Next, a man gets on the phone. After verifing my mailing information and check number he adds "O.K. everything is all set. oh, and by the way when your $1,000 arrives you will also find three promotional offers for some long distance service company, another company called Wealth Builder and, a travel company called Cash Saver but if you call and cancel within ten days you will be charged nothing or if you are interested then you dont have to do anything. you will be automaticly enrolled and the fee will be deducted from this account number that you gave me is that O.K.?" Uh, I guess so I replied. "Very good Mr. Kramer have a nice day!" Three weeks pass! Its now March 25.

After returning from work I open my mailbox and behold, theres three SEPERATE envelopes inside, And every one of them has a red ink stamp from a Pitney Bowes machine but,the date claims that they were all mailed on March 4th (slow postal service? I dont think so!) Someone either hand delivered these or they were stamped and withheld! Either way I opened the letters and wouldnt you know, The first thing it said at the top was "NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DELAYS IN MAIL". s****.> Well, lets try to cancel Wealth Builder "Hello Wealth Builder" sounds the jerk on the other end. Yes this is --I would like to cancel my subscription "Well your account has already been charged $160.00 plus you will be charged $19.95 per month as long as you use our service" yes but I want to cancel my service I said "O.K. what is your membership number?" I dont know you didnt give me one! "Well then Mr. K you have to wait untill your membership packet arrives before you can cancel" Listen ,I dont want to wait, just cancel me now! I yelled. Then this A-hole plays back my voice to me! "Is this your voice agreeing to become part of our program if you didnt cancel within ten days?" he asked. YES BUT YOU GUYS F@#%ING SCAMMED ME! I screamed into the phone. Then with a click he was gone. I called back, Hello i said and again CLICK! Well, to sum it all up Im an idiot, Im out about $460.00, they charge $19.95 to my account every month, I never recived my membership packet, or the orignal $1,000 I was promised (although I have serious doubts I even want it) In short stay away from FREEGIFTSAMERICA.COM, CASHSAVER.COM, And WEALTH BUILDER!!!!

EDitor's Suggestions on how to get your money back!

HERE IS WHAT RIP-OFF REPORT SUGGESTS YOU DO:

Go to your bank within 60 days of the charge, or as soon as you know about the charge, don't delay, and tell them that there has been fraudulent activity within your account. Explain that you wish to file a dispute, and demand that they assist you in accordance with Federal Regulation E.

According to the majority of victims interviewed by Rip-off Report, those who immediately called their banks to dispute the charges did not get very far. Many victims got the following responses from their banks: we could not do anything for you or you waited too long; it has been more than 60 days.

If the bank is says that you have waited too long, explain to them how you called their 800 number as soon as the charges were found, and were told by the bank that nothing could be done. Remind the bank that they failed to assist you properly at the 800 #, and instead, provided you with an inadequate explanation of your right to dispute. Tell the bank that it's their fault time has expired, and since they gave you the wrong info to begin with, they will just have to deal with it, take the loss and reverse the charges.

Tell them the truth; this was unauthorized and your account was NOT to be charged! Keep emphasizing how you never authorized anything! Direct them to the hundreds of victims reports that were filed on Rip-off Report.com. And if you're at the bank, walk them over to their computer and make them go to this site! If you are on the phone with them, tell them you will wait while they access this site! Either way, be persistent!

DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER!

Let them know nicely, that you were advised to Report them (the Bank) and this situation to the Banking Commission in your state. Since each state has a different name for the agency/controller over banks, find that name before you call or get to the bank so you can throw it in their face. The more knowledgeable you appear to be, the further you will get.

And just continue to demand the Federal Regulation E form! The bank CAN, MUST and WILL reverse the charge! But, you must be persistent; ask to speak to the supervisor or the area manager for all the branches in the state.

Let the bank personnel know you are meeting with the media later in the day, that you would much rather they do the right thing (as most other banks have) by looking at the complaints and immediately reversing the charge(s) to your account; no matter how long ago it was. Be sure to call the Media if necessary so you are telling the truth.

If you have to, be loud (but nice) in front of other customers. If you are just calling by phone, the above tactics should still work. The bank can easily fax or mail to you the Federal Regulation E dispute form.

CHARGES TO YOUR CREDIT CARD

If the charge was to your credit card (not debit card, check card, or checking account), contact the credit card company as soon as possible to request a dispute form. Consumers usually have a little longer to dispute fraudulent credit card charges (up to 6 months), but it is better to act right away. In this type of situation, credit card disputes are usually successful since fraudulent companies often won't contest the disputed charge. In rare cases, credit card companies will review disputes, but refuse to reverse the charges. If this occurs, complain to a manager and let them know you will be filing a report here.

Remember Don't let them get away with it! Make sure they make the Rip-off Report .. The more Reports filed on a Company or individual, the more likely it is that the authorities, media and attorneys will want to take action.

And good luck Let us know how you do!

Cash Saver NOT Involved with Scamming

#4General Comment

Tue, June 30, 2015

Cash Saver is a separate company that provides companies with vacation certificates to use as sales incentives. They are not a telemarketing company and it was one of the people that buy their merchandise who did this to you....not Cash Saver. Cash Saver is a legitimate company. I know this because I also have their certificates and I have used them and so has my friends and family. They are great and they really have nothing to do with this. The company that originally called you just used one of their certificates in their scam!

I agree with Elizabeth Porter that this complaint sounds phony. The wording on what was said by 3 different companies or 3 different employees could not possibly be as stated in this complaint. I work for a company, "All We Ask Is The Truth", that investigates such allegations against companies and we ask for verification of what the complaint states. We then either go after the company or the complainant in a lawsuit. We only get paid if we win.

I know the person that filed this complaint receives any update or rebutals. Having said that, I want to see the response to Elizabeth's $1000 for proof of this complaint. I also looked at Cash Saver's BBB report and there is no way this complaint could be true. 20 years in business with this type of business would surely get complaints.

If Mr Kramer wants to send me any proof that anything in this complaint is true, such as any of the charges he alleges was billed to his credit card, I will post that information for everyone to see. I will also take on his case for free and recover 3 to 10 times his loss. He can send this information to Jack Tobbert at my email address   AllWeAskIsTheTruth@gmail.com  If he does not respond, I will also make the same offer to Cash Saver, inc. that we will file a lawsuit for slander and we will only get paid if we win the case.

These complaint sites such as Rip Off Reports were created to allow people to file complaints to educate other consumers. They do a very good job at alerting consumers and I can attest that they have saved consumers millions of dollars as most of our lawsuits are filed to get money for consumers. Less than 10% end up getting money for the merchants for slander. I would also like to hear from other customers of Cash Saver either at my email address above or as a comment on this site.

#4REBUTTAL Owner of company

Wed, December 03, 2014

This complaint states that... and I quote..."Next, I called the travel company Cash Saver. Hello this is Mr. K I would like to cancel my enrollment in your program please". "Oh, well Mr. K your account has already been charged $140.00 so you already own two tickets to any one of our exciting destinations! Enjoy your trip!" I am an officer of Cash Saver and if you can upload any charge to you for this $140 as you claim, I will put our 20 year reputation on the line and send you $1000. If you cannot provide this proof in an answer to this complaint you filed, we may be forced to turn this over to our lawyer as slander. You have the next move. If you want to earn $1000 all you have to do is back up this claim you made.
