I needed a 60 inch LED TV moved from Irvine CA to Vinton VA. I Went on line to several people with item, model and size, weight and box size and got bids for the job.  Freightcenter.com quoted $212.60 back by e-mail which was less than anyone else.  Made the arraignments, paid up front and they picked it up the next day.  A week later it arrived and was OK to my surprise.  End of story right,  Wrong.  Two months later I get an e-mail bill from Freightcenter.com for another $227.73

Their explanation was that the box size stated on the application was wrong, showed a 65 X 18 X 18 inch box when in fact it was 65 V 18 X 46 inch box.  I don't know where they got that number but it didn't come from me, a 60 inch TV is not going to fit in that box.  The weight as stated by the manufacturer was 85 pounds so I added 25 pounds more for the box and called it a 110 pound shipment which was probably ten pounds or so more that actual.

I ask them why they picked it up if the paperwork didn't mach the shipment, they said that they could and did make that decision because they can do that. "Read the fine print on the contract".  I never got such a document from them only a statement of the job and the destinations.  No fine print at all, not that it matters, this is wrong anyway you cut it.  I have forwarded the details and information to the Virginia Attorney's generals office in Richmond for further investigations into this company and its methods.  From the looks of what I am seeing here and elsewhere this is standard practice for this company. I would suggest that anyone that has not been burned yet by these people, should find a better carrier.  If they have got you as well, file complaints and by all means contact your attorney generals office.  This stuff will keep happening as long as your silent.
