Fresh Start Mortgage I was Ripped off for 1300.00 and am very upset about it. Clearwater Florida
After repeated contacts via mail from FreshStart Mortgage, my wife and I decided to use their service. At the time we were several payments behind on our mortgage and had decided this was our only alternative.
We were told for $1300 they would stop the foreclosure and set us up on a program to repay the mortgage. We sent the required $1300 and completed all the paperwork that was required. I followed their instructions not to talk to or work with the mortgage company directly, as they would be the primary contact for the company from that point on.
The next contact we received was from the mortgage company informing us that we had 10 days to vacate our home. I began trying to contact FreshStart to find out what to do. I was told that I would get $800 of my $1300 back, but they did not offer to help us keep our home. We moved in with our son and his family and have been there since then.
My wife has sever rheumatoid arthritis and is not able to work. The stress that resulted from this situation left her very ill and caused severe distress to both of us. I have not received any restitution from the company and all the contact information we had is no longer valid. I want this company brought to justice, not only for all the harm they've caused, but for the long-term damage they've done to our family.
Having the $1300 back that they effectively stole from ous would be a start, but I'd appreciate any assistance you can provide to help us get what we feel we deserve. This company is a scam that took our money, provided us no service and to that end was the deciding factor in the loss of our home.
