Friedman's Jewelers gold was eaten off of 10kt diamond ring when placed in jewelry cleaner, ripoff Cincinnati Ohio
I have a ring that is 10kt gold. It is the anniversary type ring with the diamonds channel set down into the setting. On the front and back of the band it is cut out to say I LOVE YOU.
I placed the ring into a jar of jewelry cleaner, purchased at Freidman's and when I took it out the next day, the gold was gone from the setting. I had never seen that in my life.
The store stated that the jewelry cleaner must have been tampered with. I say the ring was gold plated or some other method, but certainly not solid gold and that is why the gold came off of the ring. Why would I ruin a ring that I loved intentionally?
I now have a ring totally useless. The diamonds still look great but the band, which is the selling point of the ring, is ruined.
