Friedman's Jewelry rip-off! Scottsboro Alabama
I have also had a bad experience with Friedman's. I bought my husband a sterling silver necklace and braclet set for 129.98. After about 3 weeks it got very dull and was turning a rose color. Come to find out it was silver plated. I informed them and they said I was mistaken. I will never shop there again. I was happy with them until this.

Try some toothpaste!

To get silver shiny again I've always just used an old toothbrush (soft bristles) and paste type toothpaste. It will shine it up almost as good as silver cleaner, if you don't have any handy and need your jewelry clean in a hurry. (This works with gold too.)
I used to do lapidary work and used this method quite often. Hope this tip helps you. :)

Common Experience ..Silver will tarnish by itself when exposed to the air

Doubt the jewelry is silver plated but it is possible. Take the pieces to any real jeweler and they can tell you if it is or not by it's markings. Alot of the silver jewelry is varnished or rhodium plated, same with the 14k or 18k white gold. After it has been used for a while it doesn't look anything like what was purchased. This is especially true of silver after some wear. Silver will tarnish by itself when exposed to the air, a silver polishing cloth can keep it looking bright. They can be found at most jewelers. Good luck.
