Frigidiare has their repair service coming to my home every other month to fix the handle on the oven of my stove. I bought the stove new from Lowe's. Its not cheap. It was around $500. I want a new stove.

The company refuses to replace the stove. They say they can not do that because the handle can be repaired. I know that it can be repaired but it will just fall off again and they will be back again next month.

I am tired of this happened and the company will not replace the stove like I asked. I can not believe that their service is so poor and they refuse to make it good. They even gave me a free extended 6 month warranty but what good is that? When that runs out and the handle breaks and/or comes off again, then I am going to be stuck with the repair bills.

It is also a major inconvience because we can not use the oven, which we really need. The company told us not to use the oven but one time it was 2 weeks before someone came out to repair it. Please do not buy from Frigidiare. Their service stinks and they will not help you. They will leave you out in the cold.

UPDATE, I GOT MY NEW STOVE

#4Author of original report

Sun, June 18, 2006

After a lot of hell and complaining, Fridigiare finally sent me a full refund, which was more than I paid for the stove. That is what they get for everything I went though. It really pays to keep complaining and fighting. I had to get another Frigidiare stove unfortunately. I had to use their rebate form. But this time I got a stove with a steel handle on it. It has not fallen off. I feel like I beat them because I had got the original stove on sale and I ended up getting more than I paid for the stove and bought one that was twice the price. The old stove, I junked. I knew that no one would buy it.

Frigidiare has no 800 phone number for the customer service and good luck if you ever need help. It is a lot of long distance phone calls to get through to Exectrolux, their parent company. This company has the worst customer service. I would never ever buy from them and I would tell anyone else not to buy from them.

If you have problem, keep fighting and fighting and don't give up.

My oven handle just came off for the 6th time

My oven handle just came off for the 6th time in 2 yrs. It is now out of warranty and Frigidaire will not help me. They must have a dianosis but I told them they already have 5 of them. They said they must have a new one, but refuse to pay for it. They want me to pay $50 for a new dianosis. If I would do that the repair person would then say it is repairable and then charge me for that too.

Why should I have to pay out of my pocket, when their product was defective from day one.

I am tried of the terrible customer service at Fridigaire. No one There cares or can see that there is an ongoing problem. This means the managment is the problem. They do not allow their customer service reps or lower managers to make decisions on behalf of customers. Their only reponse to you is NO!!!!

They cannot or will not think outside of a black and white situation. This company does not care about its product or its customers. While they offered me a 40% rebate on a new stove, that is not good enough. Why should I have to pay them another 60% for a new stove? THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. DO NOT BUY FRIGIDAIRE.

Electrolux Vac

#4Consumer Comment

Sat, October 23, 2004

Quick comment on my Electrolux vac. My old sears vac was dying so thought I'd look at vacs. About 10 years ago I traded some items to an Electrolux vac rep for a new Electrolux which still works just fine. Had a budget of about $200 to spend on the new vac. Down at one of the home shows, I see a Electrolux booth, tell them I'm looking for a new vac, have a 10 year old Electrolux. They say you are in luck, we can take your old one in on trade, on a new one. The new one is $1100 minus the $200 trade in, my cost $900 plus tax, what a deal. Went to sears, $149 plus tax.
