I purchased a home this July 2009 and the previous owner had got a Nordyne packaged unit installed in the home last year. I had the house warming ceremony on Aug 16th and for the first time I had turned on the AC in the house. On evening when I went to my master bedroom to relax the whole of the ceiling was leaking condensed water from the AC and roof is screwed up now. I got it fixed by spending $300.

Later within 5 days the AC stopped blowing cold air. I called in the contractor to find out that the Nordyne Condenser unit is blown out since it has a leak in the condenser unit. Its hardly within a year this thing has happened. Since I did not have the information on who installed it I had to run around to get information. When I contacted Nordyne folks they were so harsh in speaking to me even inspite of telling them I am a new owner. They provided me the information to a company by name Bell Simmons and when I reached them, they were not at all talking to me and used to hang up the phone. This went on for days when I finally got the information on who installed the unit. This guy has charged me $800 for labor. This is a total rip off when the unit is not covered under labor. First of all paid 8-10 grand to buy and get units installed and then later when in problem pay for the labor which is a total rip off. There is no help from these manufacturing companies to support warranty and this is totally ridiculous to even recommend to people on getting units installed. I am extremely unsatisfied by going with this Nordyne company who don't even talk to their customers to the required satisfaction and don't back their products in events of failure. This is outrageous on people buying from these folks who claim big on their products.
