Beware - Fusion Volleyball Club has changed their name to Lonestar Volleyball Club. I am sure this is because of all the complaints they have floating around the internet under the Fusion name. This new club is still managed by the same person.

My experience was that the club is horribly disorganized and the coaches were terrible, unprofessional, and inexperienced. My daughter (age 14) is an experienced club player, but because of the lack of coaching, I believe my daughter's skills actually got worse playing for this club.

My daughter's coach knew nothing about children or how to engage them to be excited about playing. Besides not teaching them anything, the girls never worked as a team. The coach was young and just wanted to be a dictator. I believe in rules, but her rules were inconsistent when it suited her.

Half of the practice time was spent on running lines and suicides, and the other was spent with the girls lined up hitting. She either didn't know any other practice exercises, or just didn't care. Never did she work on form, or show any enthusiasm at practice or at games. And then she'd say she just didn't understand why this team didn't bond together.

I put up with this all season because I didn't want to cause trouble. I even helped the coach with many things since it was apparent that she didn't know much about children. She never thanked me, even when she asked me to do something. My daughter hated going because it was so discouraging, but I made her continue up until the last game when the coach played one of her dictator games and I'd had enough.

The cost of this club is way too high for the coaches to be so bad. It was a huge waste of money. I refused to make my last $300 payment so I'm sure they will come after me for it. If so, I will sue them for not delivering the type of club experience that their website claims. I'm sure I can get a few others to join me in the lawsuit. I don't know of one parent who was satisfied with the experience.

My daughter also played on Fusion this past 2007/2008 season. We were very disappointed with the running of the organization and with the coaching. We paid a lot of money and very few of the promises that were made were kept. The coaching was poor. And it was very evident that the owner of the organization was only in it for the money. I don't know of one person on my daughters team that wasn't very unhappy with the situation. As far as I know all of the girls are trying out at a different organization. From what I hear that is common throughout all the teams. The fact that very few people are returning speaks volumes. My advice to anyone out there is to stay away from Fusion or as it is now called Lonestar Volleyball Club. You won't get what you pay for.
