I was a victim of this scam. I tried to get medication from Frontier Pharmacies. They stated that they needed an Rx from my doctor, and would not dispense until they did. They were supposed to contact him to request the Rx. There was a $20.95 charge for this initial participation.

My doctor told me he was never contacted. I received the first credit card bill for the Feb/2006 transaction. I let it go, chocking it up to my own stupidity. I then received a credit card statement for a Mar/2006 charge of $20.95!

This morning (3/22/2006), I called Bank of America Visa, and explained to customer service that the second charge was fraudulent. Customer service called the LSM5-us-pay.com 866-221-5391 customer service as indicated on the transaction. They looked up the charge, and said it was for a monthly membership fee.

I requested they cancel the membership, and refund the second charge. I believe the customer service is a clearing house for several fraudulent off-shore marking companies. The customer service representative agreed to do this, and said my credit card should be credited in 5-7 days IF FRONTIER PHARMACIES AGREES! I will follow up on this later.

EDitor's Suggestions on how to get your money back!

HERE IS WHAT RIP-OFF REPORT SUGGESTS YOU DO:

Go to your bank within 60 days of the charge, or as soon as you know about the charge, don't delay, and tell them that there has been fraudulent activity within your account. Explain that you wish to file a dispute, and demand that they assist you in accordance with Federal Regulation E.

According to the majority of victims interviewed by Rip-off Report, those who immediately called their banks to dispute the charges did not get very far. Many victims got the following responses from their banks: we could not do anything for you or you waited too long; it has been more than 60 days.

If the bank is says that you have waited too long, explain to them how you called their 800 number as soon as the charges were found, and were told by the bank that nothing could be done. Remind the bank that they failed to assist you properly at the 800 #, and instead, provided you with an inadequate explanation of your right to dispute. Tell the bank that it's their fault time has expired, and since they gave you the wrong info to begin with, they will just have to deal with it, take the loss and reverse the charges.

Tell them the truth; this was unauthorized and your account was NOT to be charged! Keep emphasizing how you never authorized anything! Direct them to the hundreds of victims reports that were filed on Rip-off Report.com. And if you're at the bank, walk them over to their computer and make them go to this site! If you are on the phone with them, tell them you will wait while they access this site! Either way, be persistent!

DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER!

Let them know nicely, that you were advised to Report them (the Bank) and this situation to the Banking Commission in your state. Since each state has a different name for the agency/controller over banks, find that name before you call or get to the bank so you can throw it in their face. The more knowledgeable you appear to be, the further you will get.

And just continue to demand the Federal Regulation E form! The bank CAN, MUST and WILL reverse the charge! But, you must be persistent; ask to speak to the supervisor or the area manager for all the branches in the state.

Let the bank personnel know you are meeting with the media later in the day, that you would much rather they do the right thing (as most other banks have) by looking at the complaints and immediately reversing the charge(s) to your account; no matter how long ago it was. Be sure to call the Media if necessary so you are telling the truth.

If you have to, be loud (but nice) in front of other customers. If you are just calling by phone, the above tactics should still work. The bank can easily fax or mail to you the Federal Regulation E dispute form.

CHARGES TO YOUR CREDIT CARD

If the charge was to your credit card (not debit card, check card, or checking account), contact the credit card company as soon as possible to request a dispute form. Consumers usually have a little longer to dispute fraudulent credit card charges (up to 6 months), but it is better to act right away. In this type of situation, credit card disputes are usually successful since fraudulent companies often won't contest the disputed charge. In rare cases, credit card companies will review disputes, but refuse to reverse the charges. If this occurs, complain to a manager and let them know you will be filing a report here.

Remember Don't let them get away with it! Make sure they make the Rip-off Report .. The more Reports filed on a Company or individual, the more likely it is that the authorities, media and attorneys will want to take action.

And good luck Let us know how you do!

Monthly Membership

#4Consumer Comment

Mon, April 23, 2007

I just went through the websites "Terms and Conditions" and it said the following:

3. Some or all of the following fees and charges will be incurred by you, the Member:

(i) Membership Monthly Fees. Membership fees are non-refundable. After your free 30-day period, as a member, you are required to pay recurring monthly fees of $20.95. Paid membership entitles you to purchase all items sold at the discounted prices shown at USMEDCENTER.COM and FrontierPharmacies.com and provides you with no additional order processing fees plus free shipping. Your cost of membership will not be affected by any increase in USMEDCENTER.COM membership rates.

They don't charge a membership fee???? Obviously you work for the company so maybe you should check up on your company before you post on here.

Frontier Pharmacies DOES NOT have reoccurring monthly fees

Contrary to what this customer states in his complaint, Frontier Pharmacies DOES NOT have reoccurring monthly fees.

I got an email from them after I complained about being billed monthly from a company that is affiliated with them (which is why they can say they don't do it directly):

--->

Dear Andrea,

Your order and membership to the RX Discount Club has been canceled and a refund
has been issued. This may take up to five business days to appear on your
statement.

Isn't that ironic that they said "membership?" Since I never went to any other pharmacy site or ever did any transaction like this in the past, and only because this email appeared immediately after I complained to my bank and SPAMMED their website about how they should stop this billing practice immediately (notice, they didn't ask "what billing service?" nor did they deny that I was being billed some monthly fee -- they knew all about it alright)?

I have concrete proof this membership fee is hidden and a scam.

To avoid it, do not use their site. They will not send you medication, they will not call your doctor, and their questionnaire page is broken and doesn't work, but they still steal your credit or debit card number.

AVOID THEM like the PLAGUE!

Frontier Pharmacies DOES NOT have reoccurring monthly fees

#4UPDATE Employee

Contrary to what this customer states in his complaint, Frontier Pharmacies DOES NOT have reoccurring monthly fees.

Frontier Pharmacies is a Florida licensed and Square Trade Approved mail order pharmacy. All prescriptions received, are first verified for authenticity, making sure that there is a valid, face-to-face relationship between the patient and the physician. It is not until we have validated the prescription that the medication is then mailed out.

There are only 2 charges that a customer of Frontier Pharmacies would receive on their credit card statement. The first is an initial non-refundable $19.95 processing fee that is applied to cover the costs accrued through the verification process, and in turn to allow for us to keep our medication prices low.

The second is a charge for the medication; charged once a verified prescription has been received by the patient's primary care physician (PCP). Both of these charges will appear on a bank statement as FrontierPharmacies.com.

As was stated earlier, Frontier Pharmacies is a Florida Licensed and Square Trade

Frontier Pharmacies is a mail order pharmacy completely separate of the website where this customer issued their request for medication. It is an entirely separate entity, contracted to fill those prescriptions generated by the specific website that the customer placed their request from.
