I purchased 2 Kingston 64MB memory cards from Fry's with the understanding that a substantial rebate would reduce my cost to only $15 per card. A good deal, right? The Fry's cashier gave me an instructions slip (printed in about its 10,000th genreation). Nevertheless, I took the instructions, blew them up on my copier so I could read them and followed the instructions to the letter, sending them the proper form, my original receipt and all of the information specified on the instructions.

About 6 weeks later I get a PREPRINTED (think they've pulled this stunt before on other suckers like me?) postcard telling me that, because I did not include the BAR CODE for the items that my CLAIM for a rebate was null and void. No opportunity to re-submit my claim with the proper information - nada! So, in essence I OVERPAID for my memory cards, as I could have gotten them at a better retail price elsewhere.

It's my undertanding that Kingston is a Fry's-owned company. Really?

And, by the way, next time give me an employee who has actually MASTERED the English Language, eh?
