Complaint Review: Fry's Electronics

Fry's adverstised in December 2002 an exclusive rebate of $35 on the Soyo Cigar Pro 64 MB USB flash drive. I completed all requried paperwork for the rebate and sent it to the rebate company on 26 December 02 within the time limit.

Phoned rebate company (www.rebatestatus.com) in March to inqure about rebate. Was told they had my information; they gave me a tracking number and said the rebate was still being processed.

Contact the rebate company again in April to get update; the previous phone number for this rebate had a recording that said to this rebate program was ended and to now contact manufacturer, Soyo. Got the same reposnde from an e-mail request to rebate company.

Soyo has no 800 number; all calls made to Soyo go to an answering system; recording says to contact rebate company for any rebate questions; no return calls from messges left to Soyo.

This is a blatant rip-off for which Fry's Electronics should be responsible - nobody else is taking any responsibility for issues the rebate.
