Bought a refurbished Toshiba laptop with full warranty. Had to wait months for Frys Electronics to repair my system, was sent back to the manufacturer twice for 6 week intervals. The first time, they replaced the hard drive, which was not the problem. Second time, the CD would not work, sent back for 6 more weeks, was told from Frys, unit was not going to be sent back, asked for a refund, but unit was still with Toshiba.

They did not respond in a timely manner, neither did managment. Does not take two weeks to get an email response from any where in the world, nothing more than stone-walling. If I mention small claims, they can no longer talk to me over the phone. I am still waiting for my laptop computer or someone from corporate who can fast track by either replacing the unit or refund.

A way to fix it

So basically your problem is that you have a full warranty. What do you mean by full warranty? You have to post if you got a Performance Service Contract or not. Turn around time for laptop repair is normal for it to be 6 weeks. Its actually better and quicker than most places. I have sent laptop's out from Best Buy and it sometimes takes up to 2 months. If you are having trouble and want to refund the Service contract since I am assuming that is what you mean by full warranty then you can but not get the full amount. The problem here is that you have already had it and it is a service and they have been going through the manufacturer for you. If you return the service contract it would be the difference so if you paid 300 and had it for only 12 months then you will only get 200 back. It is prorated. Also if you bring it in for the same problem depending on the state you live in there may be a lemon law. basically where if it happens 3 times in a row then you get it replaced. If all else fails call corporate and talk to someone above the store manager. E-mailing and calling never helps you have to show up in person. I hope this helps you out some. Also the Service contract is not a warranty its a repair plan where even if it breaks outside the 1 year manufacturer they send it out to toshiba and get it fixed by them and eat the cost so if yours breaks again or after the 1 year and its a 400 dollar repair then they just lost money.
