Complaint Review: Fuel and Fun Promotions

This program was offered through the mail to participate in what this company called mailing spots.  Each spot cost $500.00 and you could do up to 5 spots.  Whatever amount you chose, you were expected to make about 10 times that amount back in 4 months once they sold these fuel and fun promotions to businesses.   They also had references from those who supposedly invested in the past you could call to hear about the money they made.  2 of them called me back and both said they made the amount promised.  So I did 2 spots for 1,000 and expected $10,000 back in early July plus my initial investment back.  As it turned out the package came 5 days late even though it was priority and all I got was a couple coupons for airline tickets and hotel stays and a couple certificates that say I can apply my 1,000 towards another business venture with them. 

Not one dime of profit and my guess is that these coupons probably don't amount to any more than the same rates you may get when hotels or airlines are trying to sell  that last few rooms or seats for a discounted price.  I haven't checked but they probably expect you to pay some cash with the coupon which would work out to be full price in the end.  I needed this money desperately and waited 4 months for nothing. 

In spite of all this, they had a great BBB rating.  Early on they had a receptionist, but months later all you could get was a prerecorded message stating when your package would be mailed.  So for 1,000 I got a couple coupons and a couple certificates I can apply to another program that probably doesn't pay out either.
