FUJI STEAK HOUSE: STAY AWAY!!!!  WORST SERVICE EVER!

Manager: Shelly Pauley Shattuck

We were seated (by the hostess) for 30 MINUTES and NEVER EVEN ACKNOWLEDGED!!!! No Beverages, No Greeting by our server (we never even saw our server assigned to our table).

When we walked in the door, there was a small wait... we were fine with that, as we have eaten here before and expected the same quality of service and food as then. We asked the hostess if she could call me on my cell when a table was available and she wrote down my number and called us about 5 minutes afterward.

We were close and popped back in... that was 7:04PM. The Hostess greeted us by name as we walked in and sat us immediately. We were told our server would be with us shortly. We quickly decided on our selections and CLOSED OUR MENUS in the INTERNATIONAL SIGN for WE ARE READY TO ORDER.

We sat there watching what turned out to be the manager walk by us several times (and by several I mean more than 5) without even eye contact. We saw several tables come in behind us and got service shortly thereafter.

When the manager FINALLY stopped and asked about whether we had been helped yet, I asked "who is the manager", and she stated "I am". I then, showed her my phone log on my smart phone and said "is this your phone number here at the restaurant?" and she replied "I would have to check, we have a couple of numbers".

I assured her that is WAS Their number and asked her to look at the time the log stated the call came in at.... 7:04PM..... and I asked her to look at the clock on the wall....."how much time is that?... She acknowledged, "30 minutes", where I replied, "Is that acceptable for customers to be seated without being served drinks or even seeing their server? She replied "No, that is unacceptable".

I replied "then, what are you going to do about this?" "I have already paid for this meal and I want a refund or something, as this is the worst service I have ever experienced in a restaurant, and I eat out ALL THE TIME.

We purchased a deal from Amazon Local ($15 for $30 voucher) and intended to use this to offset our entire bill (as Fuji has entrees in the price range of $24 for what we were ordering).

We WOULD HAVE had an entire bill of over $60, but we were not even SERVED! She quickly retorted "I apologized and you don't have to draw attention." I was calm, yet stern, and fuming after THAT REMARK.

She then went on to BLAME US by stating that "We are so very busy and I was helping everyone around you." (This REALLY got me..... why were we singled out? Was it that I looked different?? No.... couldn't be.... everyone around was all different in appearance...). I think it was that we were INVISIBLE. We weren't singled out... we just were NOT SERVED BY ANYONE. (My GF noted that they were not so busy.) 

This is the most insolent and smug treatment I have EVER EXPERIENCED and I was DOUBLY INSULTED by this manager's attitude and behavior.

She said she was going to get us some drinks, whereupon I stated I would not eat here and got up to leave. My GF decided to stay for a minute after I went to get in the car and the Manager brought here a water in a TO GO cup! (obviously she expected us both to leave!) My GF asked her for her name and she replied after some prodding "Shelly ".....upon prodding... her last name was revealed to be Shattuck. 

Shelly Pauley Shattuck is on Facebook and wrote a post stating how her Staff is wonderful and that they "Killed it" last night..... well, maybe for some, but for us, they fell on their sword. We have over 3000 Facebook friends and contacts and will be letting EVERYONE know how poor the service can be there and how awful the management is. No wonder Market Street Grill closed down! With managers like this on board, it is no small wonder why the place dwindled in traffic down to non-existence. (She used to manage that failed restaurant / bar)

We will never eat here again.
