Complaint Review: Fulfillment International

I entered a competition to win a holiday a few weeks ago and gave my general details.

I received a call on 9/10/2002 from Fulfillment International saying I'd won a holiday to USA for 4 people staying 9 days in total with an Oceanbreeze cruise included valued at over $4000.

I spoke with a man by the name of Craig, he told me all about what I'd won, went over my details (address etc then asked me to verify my credit card details so when I accepted the holiday they could charge me some fees, which I queried and he said when he transferred me to the verification department they would record my details so they were secure and explain everything to me in more detail.

When I was transferred I said I didn't like to give out my creit card details over the phone especially when I haven't received any confirmation and he said, "Well, we already have them." I said I wasn't interested and hung up, he phoned back and said he was already in the process of putting through a transaction for $488US and the balance of around $4000 would be debited in arounf 30days. I said you can un-do-it then, the other gentlemen said I'd won a holiday not paying for one.

I hung up again and phoned my bank straight away. The lady said nothing appeared on my account yet but she was going to speak with her supervisor. She did that and he said he had heard of this company doing the same to others. She then spoke to fraud and they said they would monitor my account, but by the tie she had taken me off hold and had another look at my accounta transaction of $902.10 had been put through from Fulfillment Int. Corp. I have cancelled my account and have put in a dispute form to get the money back.
