Complaint Review: Full Throttle Entertainment

When do you decide enough is enough?  When do you decide to cut the ties and let go?  What determines whether the line has been crossed or not?  Well in my scenario all of the above have been crossed and pushed.

I had the opportunity to work with a start up Entertainment Company by the name of Full Throttle Entertainment, which is owned and operated by Phil Rose.   The job it's self is great!  It's meant to be fun; I have been doing it for many many years.  I started in 2001 with Platinum Gold Entertainment, have worked with M&M Ent.  and have free lanced for other companies too.  Can you imagine how great it feels to run the party, to be in charge of making sure that everyone is having a GOOD time!  High energy, tons of smiles, people dancing all the time; How could this not be enjoyable... Wait till you work with Phil Rose.

In my opinions this guy is anal, cheap, a complete liar.   Allow me to explain on how much of a liar he truly is...  He is like the most annoying Car Sales man; he says the same thing to every client.  One of his big thing was "you create your own hype" in other words.  You can lie as much as you want to, in order to make yourself look better in the eyes of other people.  That does not sound very ethical, does it?  He would also say things like:  My personal belief is that you don't need to take out a second mortgage to have a good party.  Mean while this guy is known for selling things that aren't needed and adding on things that most likely will make your party go worst. 

So what happened...? Well first of all I worked in the office w/ Phil Rose for about 6 months maybe a little more.  During this time more and more respect was lost for this feller.  I learned how he kissed rear ends to try to get in others peoples good sides, I mean as a grown man trying to do business... do you really think that because you kiss your clients rears that's going to make them respect you??? Seriously??  I have personally seen him lose it and in more than one occasion... It was my own fault for dealing with him during this time and putting up with this type of behavior.  Does that make him feel like a bigger man?  He has personally asked me in more than one occasion and about other people within the office to see whether or not they were using drugs?!?!?  Are you kidding me???  If you ever believe that of anyone you pull them to the side and ask them directly.  You don't go around spreading rumors and asking others about people, and those questions were only derived from the person being a little sleepy or just out of it for the day.  What a guy huh....

So what happened?!?!? ok I'm getting to it now....  The weekend of 2/13/10 & 2/14/10  I was scheduled on two parties, Saturday night at the Parkland Country Club and Sunday morning at a residence in parkland.  So Saturday night the party was set up to not go as well as it should have.  1st of all it was a small room (that's not a problem) the room was not set up in the best way possible for a party (that's not a problem) there was only 50 kids.  Some of them were really young and some of them were friends of the older sister and some others were family members (that's not the problem).  Out of the 50 kids excluding the older sisters friends, and the cousins that were there they were about 90% boys (that's not the problem). The problem is that with all those minor obstacles in the way he decided to SELL casino tables.  Not only for cocktail hour (which would have been fine) but he decides to leave them there during the whole party.  Between both tables it holds around 20 kids max.  Now that only leaves me with 30 kids.  Then it gets worse... He also adds on Video Games during the party.  Not one or two but four screens!!! T hose games take up another 8-16 kids.  You do the math; at most I have 20 kids to run a party with and some family members but not many. 

So the point of all this... Do you chose to make the party the best possible or do you chose to only put the games there for cocktail hour and make the party go as good as it possibly can??? ( I guess this is a matter of opinion and if it's what the client wants then it's ok.)  However, knowing Phil Rose I would not be surprised if he said something like "well since you're already having the tables and video games be there for cocktail why don't we just keep them there for the whole party.  The price difference is very small; too good of a deal to pass up."  Obviously since he charges and arm and a leg during the first hour!  But that's ok...

Now I'll tell you why we don't work together anymore.  After that Party (which I rocked, BTW) the problems started.  The crew was, Mc (me) DJ (wun), & Van (who was the warehouse manager at the time).  That same night it was my best friends last night before he would propose to his Girl Friend (she said yes btw :)  So after the party was over, we rolled out all the equipment to the truck.  As I kept going back and forth pulling things out I noticed the rest of the staff start smoking a cigarette and hanging out.  So I made sure everything was out of the room and lifted into the truck.  Then I proceeded to head to the rest room and change my outfit.  While I was changing my outfit, Van finished putting things into the truck and strapping things down as he is the warehouse manager and has the most experience loading and strapping down the trucks.  It's what he does!!!  All the equipment was loaded into the truck the way Van wanted it to be, I continue to go meet up with my friend and the night ends.

The next morning, we have another party, same crew as the night before.  I'm running a little behind and the DJ calls me because he knew that I was going to head out for a bit the night before.  When we spoke between the DJ n I we decided that he and Van would grab the truck and meet me in the location in parkland (which happens to between my home and the office).  Everything was fine!  I would have been at the property in time to take everything off the truck and do the party!  It would have been a beautiful Sunday.  But then....

As I get out the shower at 8:45am I get a call from the devil himself "Phil Rose"... Right away he takes a nasty tone w/ me.
(This is a lose interpretations of the words that were said.  Because the way we spoke to each other was very inappropriate)
Phil Rose: Are you coming to the warehouse?
Louie Lou:  I already spoke with the DJ and he'll be grabbing the truck and I'll meet him there, no worries I'll be there to do the party.
PR: Uhhhhmmm ok.... But don't you think that this is something you should be asking me?
LL: Phil It's all taken care of, I'm going to be at the property in time and the party is going to be fine, why would we even bother you with something silly like that?

(Phil is Anal, a control freak, and micro manages everything!!! Impossible to work with)

PR:  Well it's my company and what I say goes
LL: ok phil
PR:  Now i'm looking at the back of a truck that nothing was done right in, the this is wrong and that isn't done right and this is bad... etc, etc, etc.
LL: phil wait a second.  Van, your warehouse manager, loaded and strapped everything in the truck and you are screaming at me?
PR:  You are the manager and it's your responsibility to have my back?!?!?!?
LL:  If he is in charge of the warehouse and loading the trucks why would you want me to do it instead of him.  It's what he does and what he is good at?
PR:  Lou you are supposed to have my back..
(I blow up)
LL: Phil I don't want to have your back, I don't like you... Are you calling me to yell and scream and totally ruin my day.... or are you calling to wish me good luck on my party and hope that everything goes great...
(you won't believe what he said then)
PR: No I called you to yell, scream, and ruin your day because I'm pissed!
LL:  Listen I'm not your kid or do I even like you for you to speak to me in this manner.  Do you want me to go do the party or would you like to find someone else?  I'll have no problem staying in my bed if that's what you wish.
PR:  Are you backing me up into a corner???
LL: No Im saying that if you want someone else to do your party it's ok with me... I don't have to do it.
PR:  No, I'll tell you what go do my (and I quote) F&@*ing Party and I'll deal with you when I come back in town.
LL:  excuse me what did u just say to me
PR:  I said (and I quote) go do my F&@*ing Party and I'll deal with you when I come back in town.
LL: Listen don't you ever talk to me like that... Find someone else to do your party Phil.  But I've had enough of you talking down on me as if you own me or something like that. 
- I hang up the phone here.  phil keeps calling and calling and I refuse to pick up.  If I do pick up he starts yelling and screaming.

Then I get a phone call from Chris Rice:  He says... I don't care what happened...  Are you coming to the party?
LL: I'll come to the party if you guys can guarantee me that I will get paid
( I don't trust phil at all!  and I'll prove why not in a minute)
CR: ok... good bye

PR:  You're backing me up into a corner and telling me that you won't do the party unless I have your money there for you!!! When you know that the accounting person isn't here and that that is impossible!!! etc, etc etc...

LL: No phil, I said as long as Im guaranteed to get paid Ill do the party.  However, now that you bring that up... I know you so well and you are such a liar and will do anything to try n screw someone over that you probably wouldn't pay me.  So yeah now if you want me to do the party, make sure my money is there.

20-30 minutes later... I get a txt saying "you've been replaced"....

So I don't do the party.  However I'm friends with people at the party and they are telling me that things went alright during the party.  The parents weren't that happy with the MC that Full Throttle sent (because it wasn't me :) but the party went ok.  Dancers and DJ got tipped and there were no issues, other than me not being there.

So now Phil Rose owes me $400 dollars for the party for the night before.  Do you think Im going to get that or is he going to come up w/ excuses???  Not only that but he has been bad mouthing me to the client saying that I didn't show up to his party.  Instead of saying that Louie didn't show up to the party because I cursed him out.  What a big difference right???

So I get my check... want to know how much it was for?  Take a guess... Nope less than that.  Guess again... nope less than that.  It was a whopping $20.01

So I sent him a text asking for an explanation.  He writes me saying that I would receive a certified letter in the mail.  So he doesn't even have the courage or cojones to explain it himself.  Ok so i'm expecting to receive a  real document, something legal, instead I get a something that my 12yr old cousin could have put together themselves. 

It states:  Dear Mr. Moyano

Enclosed you will find an itemized list of charges Full throttle Entertainment incurred for both damaged items as well as other expenses incurred by the company.

1) 20 minutes late to property on 2/13/2010 - $30.00
    ( I didn't show up late to the property on Saturday, but it's my word against his, not only that but Phil and I never had any type of agreement, not verbal nor written, on the amount that would be charged for being 20 minutes late.)

2) Broken Items in Truck & Labor cost on 2/13/10 $48.99
    (Broken Items in the truck??? I don't know about you but that doesn't cut it for me... I need to know what I broke and how it was fixed Otherwise, how do I not know that it's another one of Phil's lies????)

3)  Money refunded back to client due to your no show on 2/14/10 - $300
    (Ha this is great!  Are you kidding me Phil?  Did you forget that I worked in your office and that I know that you don't refund anything unless you have to?  Tell me why did you have to refund money?  Was I guaranteed on the job? If I was, I didn't know about it.  Also, Phil doesn't charge anymore to have me at any one event.  So why would the client get money back because I wasn't there?  As far as Phil does business, he never guarantees anybody at any job.  So if the client had an MC, the party went well, and to the clients eyes the only thing missing was me... then why was there any money reimbursed?  Exactly... Another one of Phils' many lies.)

4) Company uniform not returned (red tie) $1.00
     hahahaha really?  now you can tell this is a joke!  he's just doing this to try to get back at me.  Really is that how a business owner operates?  what a joke!!

So I received a check for a whooping $20.01 cents.... com'on guy

This isn't the only example of Phils lies.... We had a party and a music system was stolen.  Literally STOLEN.  I know for a fact that Phil got the system from a family member for way under $500.  When it was time to talk about it, Phil wanted to charge me around $2000 for the system and not only that.  It was ALL my responsibility not mines and the DJ's....

This list could go on and on... but I think i've made my point.  In my opinion Phil Rose is a LIAR and a CHEAT.  I would never recommend anyone to ever do business or to even work for this guy.
