I'm not sure how I got stuck with this membership, I think it was part of a process through JCPenny ordering. When I noticed the $9.95 charges appearing on my monthly charge card I called the 888 # shown on my statement. They agreed to cancel the membership but told me that the current month would still be charged because I called mid-month. Several months later I noticed the charge was back on my account.

I called again and they tell me they don't see any notes on my account that I called to cancel it. The person continued to try and sell me on the membership after I told him I wasn't interested and that this is my 2nd time cancelling it. He agreed to credit me $9.95 for last months charge and again launched into selling me on the membership. After I had to get firm and a little rude, he acknowleded the cancellation. BUT, before I could hang up he tried to sell me Stonebridge insurance. Unbelievable.

I will have to watch my credit card very closely for another scam from them.

If you really cared about customer satisfaction, you would not be cramming unauthorized charges onto peoples accounts.

As far as I am concerned these are worthless programs designed to rip off consumers.

Signing up should be totally voluntary -as it is now it is easily missed by someone checking out on an internet shopping site.

Signing up should be a completely separate function from the check out process.

But you hide it with survey's and tiny print with pre-checked check boxes. That is not voluntary.

And when a customer calls to cancel - credit all charges, not just the partial charge and stop pressuring them to stay enrolled.
