Fun Time Vacation The Travel Center, One Stop Promotion SCAM Vacation Clarksburg Maryland
A fax was received at work about promotional vacation offers. I've received this similar fax many times over the last several years and I was always curious but the timing was never right. The prices listed were extremely low and included airfaire. Some vacations were listed as all-inclusive. I called the 1-800 number and spoke at length to a very good salesman. I wrote down all the information he told me and was cautious, but ended up being convinced. I was told about some other fees that I would accrue ($69 per person to a booking agent) and that I would have to pay taxes on the vacation.
I should have seen several red flags- Prices too good to be true- and the company that I was purchasing from did not actually make a reservation for me- I paid them- and then they referred me to the booking agent (for a fee)- who was supposed to book the vacation. But of course never did. Another interesting thing that should have been a red flag is that the company would not allow us to use a credit card for any of these fees. Money Order/Cashiers Check ALWAYS be concered.
We lost $850 to this scam.
