I won a Kindle on February 19th on this penny auction site. Shipping / delivery times stated that it would take 5-10 days before I received my item which suggested I should have my item no later then Feb 29th. By Feb 31st I still had not received the item or any further correspondence from Funtual so I tried contact them through the contact page on their site also on Feb 31st. After 24 hours and still no reply, I sent a second email which also went unanswered. In addition I tried he live support option several times and "Todd" always says he is offline, day or night. After 5 emails to support and no reply I did receive my item on March 6th. I must say I was excited that the item even arrived at all but my excitement was quickly changed back to dissapointment when I found out that the item was not "new" as they claimed. In fact it appeared to be a "store return". The owners manual was missing, the power cables were just wrapped around each other,  the plastic screen protector layer was missing and there were several small scratches marks on the screen as well as big thumb print. Once again I emailed support but received no response. Live support is still unavailable and no one ever answers or returns messages on the customer service 800 number. After 4 more days of continuous contacting I called my credit card company to file a charge back who instructed me to send the item back and that they would credit me the sale. The only problem is the item address appears to have a drop ship address from Florida yet the Funtual company address is somewhere in Las Vegas. With no response or return address or return number I'm not sure or actually afraid to mail the box back anywhere plus the cost to ship the item back with insurance is going to be over $20 which I also do not want to loose. This is a total nightmare. I tried to do some research on this company in order to find some other phone numbers and the Better Business Bureau lists the company address as address 2300 W Sahara Ave Ste 500, Las Vegas, NV 89102-4353. When I look this address up I see that suite 500 is actually law offices of for  several  personal injury attorneys. Why is the business address listed as that of a group of lawyers? I decided to call them and the receptionist told me that indeed Virtual Entertainment AKA Funtual.com has an office listed in their suite but she was unaware of any other information. I asked her to connect me to some in the office and she said they were not on the same phone system. Really this is the biggest crop of BS I have heard. The company has an office in their suite but they are not on the same phone system?

My advice, this is just another scam penny auction site. I'm now reading on the BBB site that in 2011, they published its annual list of common scams, and penny auctions ranked in the top ten!

This is my first and last attempt with penny auctions. I should have done my home work first.

1 -The user Bidtilliwin did not post these comments. Bidtilliwin is a loyal customer and has participated in our auctions on daily basis. The won auctions could be viewed at our finished auctions page.

2- Bidtilliwin has never complained to us or anyone for this matter.

3- The auction presented above was won by Bidtilliwin. Bidtilliwin chose to trade the item for FunNotes. No kindle was mailed to Bidtilliwin.

4- We only auction brand new items shipped by reputable companies.

5- We offer excellent customer service that could be tried by any viewer to judge for themselves.

The above comments are untrue and designed to discourage new customers from participating in our auctions.

Unfortunately, in the penny auction business model, there is an incentive for greedy customers to discourage new customers from participating in a site. The fewer participants in an auction means they will spend less bids and win for lower prices.
