Here is my story, similar to others posted here:

On June 2nd, 2009 I initiated a purchase of a bed and two nightstands through the company's web-site.  I used Paypal to pay the $1,275 for the furniture because at that time their website claimed that they were a "proud sponsor" of Paypal.  I verified the purchase by phone with Meagan Price that same day and was given a delivery window of approximately 10 weeks.

In late June I called Meagan to get an update on the delivery date and to inform Furniture Showcase that I had moved and give them my new shipping address.  Meagan told me that the delivery was scheduled for August 20th.

Not hearing anything from Furniture Showcase, I called Meagan on August 24th.  I was given a new delivery date of September 25th which I told her was unacceptable.  I asked her to cancel the order and initiate a refund.  Meagan told me she would cancel the order and the refund should take three weeks to process.  At this time I spoke to Aaron Vesterfelt (Manager) and he told me that the "industry standard" to process a fefund was 30 days.

I was dissatisfied with 3 weeks or 30 days when they had collected my funds from Paypal in 3 days so on September 3rd I initiated a complaint with the North Carolina BBB.  Imagine my lack of surprise when I discovered that Furniture Showcase's BBB was an F and that Furniture Showcase's BBB accredidation was revoked on August 7th, 2009.  Over the next six weeks of back and forths via the BBB I offered my side with facts and dates...and they presented their side with various alibis and outright lies.  For example, they told the BBB that the nightstands had been shipped to Illinois when I found out on September 15th that the nightstands were and had been sitting in a warehouse in Thomasville, NC since June 11th.

Confident that I would win a BBB sponsored arbiration, I agreed to such.  Furniture Showcase refused and therefore the complaint was closed as "unsettled" on October 4th.

On November 17th "President" Michael Whetzel finally got involved in the back and forth that had been going on between myself and Aaron.  At that time, believing that I was finally dealing with a man of honor and integrity, I accepted an offer by Aaron to accept $1,115 after a restocking fee for the nightstands, just to get the matter over with.

After receiving, filling out and returning and even providing more information I awaited my refund.  All I got was excuses and more alibis (weather, staffing, etc).

It is now March 2nd 2010,  nine months after this fiasco began.  Michael Whetzel and Aaron Vesterfelt refuse to return my phone calls or respond to my emails.  Paypal is now refusing to accept funds for their company, probably after my complaint and others.

What they do and the way they conduct business, as proved by my complaint and the others posted here and with the BBB, shows that neither Michael Whetzel or Aaron Vesterfelt have no honor or integrity and should be prosecuted for the thieves that they are...

Furniture Showcase recently updated their website and conspiciously absent are both an address and telephone number for their business...when I playfully sent an email asking why I received an answer from Michelle Whetzel stating that "We are no longer selling to the public, I apologize for any inconvenience. ".

I replied to this email stating that Michael Whetzel promised me a refund on November 17, 2009 and asking her for her help...and surprise, suprise...no response from Michelle Whetzel!!!

I have a copy of the email that he sent to Aaron Vesterfelt on that date instructing him to refund my money...I filled out the form that Aaron sent me and...nothing...

I also have an email responding to one I sent thanking him for getting involved where he responded "You shouldn't have had to come to my level and I apologize for any short comings thus far You should be ok now."

The Furniture Showcase website use to state that they were "incorporated in the State of North Carolina"...If their conduct and obvious lack of Honor and Integrity don't warrant an investigation and prosecution by the NC Attorney General then that government body doesn't care about the reputation of the NC furniture industry or the victims of Furniture Showcase.
