Furniture2buy Awful return policy & restocking fee Los Angeles California
I wish I had read Kimberly's report before I purchased a loft bed for my 8 year old.
I found this company on-line and purchased a loft bed for my son. Their site stated that the mattress was not included in the purchase, but to order a mattress "click here". I did and 3 mattress came up for the twin bed, a 6", 7" and 8". I purchased the 8" because I planned on having my son use this bed for a while & wanted a better mattress.
I must say that I had no problem with the delivery of the bed & mattress. However, after opening the bed and reading the instructions is warns not to use a mattress more than 6" thick. The website never mentioned this when I purchased this product.
I called customer service and explained my problem. I advised them that their site never mentioned to purchase a 6" mattress for this product. I was told that the manufacture just puts 6" down, but you could use up to 8" & they guardrails will still work (they have never had a problem).
After discussing it with my husband we decided for the safety of our son, we wanted to return the 8" & get a 6". When I called back to see what I need to do to return the 8" mattress (which was never opened and still in the original box/packing) I was told there would be a 15% restocking fee & I had to pay for shipping.
I guess the restocking fee is understandable & I am more than willing to pay it, however the shipping should be paid by the Company since they misrepresented the product. Also they told me I need to arrange the shipping through a freight company myself. Oh they did however give me the # for the company that shipped the items to me, but after calling them I was told they dont pick up in my state. I called a few other companies for quotes which ranged from $300 to $550. The mattress was only $200.
I still dont what what I am go to do but I wanted to make everyone aware of this company's return policy. DO NOT order anything from Furniture2buy unless you are sure you will not return it.
