I bought a San Giorgio bedwall from Future Rest in Claymont in Oct. 2003. I was quoted a price of $1100. with a $100. delivery charge. During a subsequent visit to this store for measurements, I decided to also order a storage pedestal, surround and decking for a total of $1900. I financed this through American General.

6 weeks later, I received a bill from AG for furniture I did not have. I called them and placed the bill in dispute. The next day, I received a call that my furniture was in. The day of delivery, the warehouse called and told me the company sent the wrong color and it had to be sent back. Three days later the warehouse called and said the color had been discontinued, should not have been on the showroom floor, etc. I called the store and spoke with my salesperson, Lymon, and agreed to look at the floor sample since it was the color I wanted. I decided to buy the floor sample and Lymon agreed to credit my account $200. due to the fact that it was a floor sample. This was never done.

When they delivered my bedwall and the rest of it, everything EXCEPT the bedwall had been ordered incorrectly. They brought me a 13" pedestal instead of the 9" pedestal I ordered, they brought a surround for a waterbed instead of a regular mattress. My boyfriend wound up in the bedroom with the delivery people taking off the sides of the surround and sawing the decking so we could sleep in our bed that night. I called the store the next day and asked that they remove the incorrectly ordered pieces as the bed was so high I couldn;t get in or out of it. I was told that they were ordering the correct pieces but it might take a few weeks. I kept calling only to be told they "forgot" to order the pieces. Louis, from the warehouse, made arrangements to come out on a Friday to measure the bed so the pieces would be correct (4 weeks after the delivery) and never showed up. He apparently "forgot". Eventually I was told they had not ordered the replacement pieces and weren't going to.

In the meantime, I spoke with American general several times. My account had never been credited with the orginal $200. and, with all of the new problems, the bill remained in dispute. Several calls were made to Bernie Eskinn who never returned them and was never available.

In January, Lymon stated that Bernie was wiling to send me a check for $600. Since my account shold have been credited $900. (the bed was 1100 minus the 200 credit for floor sample, plus the delivery fee of 100), I refused. I also spoke with American General who stated the company could not send me a check, it had to be sent to them. Lymon then turned around and said he could not sell me the bed for 1100. In the meantime, nothing has been picked up.

In February, Lymon states they will be coming to pick up the pieces the following Saturday. During the course of that conversation, he agrees that he will credit my account $900. and I will keep the bedwall. He never calls back and I never hear from anyone about the pick up. The following week, Lymon calls and says the warehouse will be out on Saturday and will be picking up "everything". When I remind him about our agreement for the bedwall, he tells me I can only keep the bedwall if I pay $1300. for it. No one calls to make arragements for pick up.

This past week, I agree to pay 1100. to keep the bedwall, Lymon says it is now $1350. I told him to just pick it all up. I have never dealt with a more dishonest and misleading group of people. In the meantime, no arrangements have been made for pick up and NO ONE is picking anything up without a written agreement that my account will be credited in FULL for the return of all the merchandise. After all of this nonsense, I don't trust anyone from there to do anything they say since they haven't yet.

BTW, yesterday my boyfriend offered them 1250 and they turned it down. This bed is selling "new" for less than that at 2 other stores in the area. Even he came home and said let them take it. This is ridiculous.

So, Bernie, you are apparently out there even though you don't answer or return your calls. Know this: I have reported you, Lymon and your company to the Better Business Bureau, the FTC and the Attorney General's Office. You have an obligation to make this right. I was willing to compromise, but you guys think you can just rip people off. By showing that set in both your Claymont and your Neshaminny store (yes, I was there too, picking up parts for your delivery people that they "forgot" on the day of delivery) you are also engaging in false advertising. I went back to the store the other day, just for kicks. It was still on the floor and your sales people are still telling me they can order it for me in that color.

Bernie, you could have had the courtesy to return one of my calls. I don't even know if you know the whole story (although you do now) because Lymon is a liar who changes his story a million times and does nothing he says he will. Your warehouse people are just as bad (although Jim was very nice). I tried to chalk Lymon's problems up to the language barrier, but refuse to believe this now. You can still make this right. All I want is to keep the bedwall for a fair price, have the incorrect pieces picked up and my account credited.

Out of business in Neshaminy, Pa!!!

Hooray! I was in the Neshaminy Mall today and the future rest store is now a Halloween store! I am hoping that they lose the other 2 stores as well. Rip off artists!!!! Finally, they are getting what they deserve!

I first wrote about Future Rest on this site in March. I had purchased a bedwall and other items from them in October, finally got it delivered in December only to find that except for one piece, everything else I ordered had been ordered incorrectly. I had been trying to get them to either order the correct pieces or to pick them up. We did try to negotiate to keep the bedwall, but they kept raising the price!! We've been asking them to come and pick up this stuff for months.

So, here's the update: they were reported to the Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau. The BBB in Delaware (where the set was purchased) said it wasn't their responsibility since the corporate headquarters were in NJ. The NJ BBB sent Bernie a letter inquiring about the problem. GET THIS - Bernie, who is the owner and company president, sends a note stating he is not responsible for the store since the store was in Delaware!!!! That's pretty funny!!! Anyway, BBB and attorney geneal are on to his nonsense.

The finance company, American General, kept having to call them and ask them to pick up the merchandise. They said they could not believe how uncooperative they were. Finally, the last time they called and asked again for them to remove the merchandise from my home, they were told they had to talk to someone NEW instead of the people they had been dealing with for the last 6 months. The rep FREAKED and handed it over to her supervisor.

Well, they did finally show up this past Saturday (end of April - 4 months later!!!!!!!) and took it all out of here. Of course, since it is Future Rest, they broke my ceiling fan on the way out. Actually, I think that WAS an accident and the warehouse guy did try to replace it, but I am still stuck with a bill for a new one.

So my advice to anyone who is thinking about doing business with these guys -------- RUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNN!

BTW, we found a beautiful new set at a competitor who tells us that Future Rest is in major financial trouble. Any wonder why????
