I was met at the bottom of the driveway bay a large black pick-up truck. The guy got out and asked if I lived here and asked if they could talk to me for a minute. DUMMY me, I said ok.
He told me he had a new product he would like to try out and then give them an opinion on it. When I found out it was a vacuum cleaner I should have told them to get off the property, but being tired and not thinking, I let his associate demo a Filterqueen Majestic canister vacuum and an air purifier.
I carefully listened to the demo, and said I try them out. He called the other guy to come back (from tending to other associates) and finish the paperwork.
I wasn't paying close attention, I just figured it was so if I either damaged the stuff or wanted to buy it they already had all my info. I was WRONG. When I read the paperwork in detail later, they were going to charge me $3000!
I got the paperwork out to see how long I had to demo and read " "You may cancel this transaction, without any Penalty or Obligation, within THREE BUSINESS DAYS from the above date (8/2/16)"
WTH!! "To cancel this transaction, mail or deliver a signed and dated copy of this Cancellation Notice or any other written notice, or send a telegram, to..."
Western Union does not send telegrams any more. The only way I had of getting the documentation to them by the 5th at midnight was to go to the Post Office and send it Priority Mail ($22.95)! At least it will get there by noon on the 5th AND I will get a notification of delivery. I also find out that Bridgewater, Pa is ACTUALLY a borough of Beaver, Pa and that the mail would still be delivered to the zip code given. No suite number, so I can only hope it gets to where it is supposed to go.
When I got home, I called the phone number I found in one of the books to notify them of my actions. Wrong number. They gave me another 800 number, again...wrong number. They gave me yet ANOTHER 800 number where I left a message.
