I purchased a female Great Dane puppy, born on 3/21/10, and despite my repeated requests still haven't received the advertised AKC paperwork as promised.  I've contacted the AKC who has tried multiple times to contact the breeder without success.  The breeder cannot be contacted by phone and fails to answer emails.

In addition, when I picked up my puppy, all the pups were covered with these "bumpy sores".  The breeder told the buyers (who all came at the same time to pick up their pup) that these sores were from the puppies playing and nipping each other.  Turned out, my puppy had (and still has) Demodectic Mange.  She is now almost 7 months old and is still struggling with mange.

The breeder is still advertising one pup from this litter for sale.  Also, she changed her on-line kennel name to LM Great Danes the day my pups' litter went to their new families.  The contract reads "Greater Danes".

The registration papers aren't really a big deal to me.  What is, though, is that she continues to sell puppies and some probably also had or have mange.  She gets a lot of money and then just disappears when the buyer needs help.

It's very disappointing and I'd love to know if the other buyers have had a similar experiences.

Update on my original G&M Great Dane Report

I am so sorry to hear the other pups are also sick.  My girl also has foot problems.  Apparently there is a type of mange that settles in the feet.  Her feet bleed and swell up.  She's not actively "raw" right now except on her one foot.  She does have patches of hair loss.  I too wanted to get in touch with others who purchased puppies from the same litter - but I do not think we can post our email addresses in these reports.  After I posted my original report, the breeder contacted me to ask me to remove it.  I told her I would do so when I received the paperwork.  She also stated that she didn't know of any other puppies with mange and that the parents were not suffering and the pups' mom never lost any hair.  She offered me a replacement pup which I appreciated but declined.  THat was several weeks ago and I haven't received the paperwork yet.  Again, I don't really care about that.  I just wanted the breeder to provide support.  Now, though, after hearing that at least two others have had the same experience, I am not going to remove the report.  Even if I do receive the paperwork.  Finally, I have been treating Maddie with Promeris which is a flea/tick preventative.  I use it every three weeks and it has helped her a great deal and keeps the mange under control.  I don't know if you've tried it, but if not perhaps you may want to speak to your vet.  I still have not been able to have Maddie spayed because of the mange - the vet doesn't want to do it until we absolutely have to.   We lost our male Great Dane in March of 2010, the day this litter was born.  I searched high and low for a dane and felt like it was some kind of karma that she was born on the day he passed.  I love her and wouldn't trade her for the world - I am just sorry she is suffering.
