I too was sold a sick Great Dane in May 2010. I actually have been trying to get in contact with other Great Dane families that were in Hanover that same day. I have been kicking myself for the past few months for not exchanging e-mails with the other families. Bruce is also fighting Mange. I feel so sorry for the puppy with the foot infection. As you all know the treatment for Mange is very costly not to mention no paperwork was mailed to the house which was promised 6 weeks from the day we picked up the puppies. How can she get away with this? Is there something we can all do together? I cant believe she is able to change her registered name that easily. I too have been trying to contact her through e-mail and she does not respond. I am eager to get in touch with her but am running out of ideas on how to do so. I did at one time google her address and found phone number, but now of course I have the courage to call her and can not research the number. Anyone who wants to keep in contact please do so. (((REDACTED))), it would be nice to hear from you all!

I saw they redacted the email address.  I took Maddie to the vet a couple days after we got her and the doctor thought the bumps were suspicious, she put her on antibiotics and the next visit did a skin scrape.  So since she was about 3 months old we've been struggling.  She's been on and off multiple antibiotics and was hospitalized twice because she was so sick with a fever and skin infected. She's darling though - such a love and the nicest dog in the whole world.  Promeris works well, but  Ivermectin is probably better.  My vet really wanted to wait to use it as a last resort if the Promeris wasn't working.  She is hoping that Maddie grows out of it. I wish there was a way we could email and exchange pictures also.....

I can not believe she actually called you to remove the report. And how aweful of her to offer another pup in place of yours. Don't you think after 9 months 6 of them trying to get ahold of her, you are a little attached to the pup by now. I too have e-mailed her asking for advise, questioning about the mange, and so on. No response. As I am looking at the contract, I see it was created at the Adams County Court House which I may give a call to today just because I am now worked up. After waiting for her response for a few months, I decided to give up and just thank god that we have took him out of who knows what kind of situation in that house and brought him home with us to a good home. I remember Maddie, she looks just like Bruce except shes a female. Bruce actually was first treated in July for mange and was visiting the vet every two weeks up until probably early October. He looked wonderful, no missing hair, very shiny black coat, and of course bigger by the day. Just a few weeks ago, I started noticing hair loss around his eyes. Unfortinatly he is back on the medicine. Thanks for the recomendation of treatment, I will look into it. The vet has him on Ivermectin, (only you can imagine chasing a 115 pound pony to inject a horrible medication in their mouth) and he is also on an antibiotic, I guess just as a preventative. I am so sorry that both other pups have foot issues. How did you find out about that? He does have a spot on his foot which is raw but I never really questioned it. Now I am wondering if I should. We have not had Bruce fixed yet either not only because of the mange but because we had signed him up for an 8 week class back in November, we will just wait until thats over. There has got to be a way to exchange e-mails, I learned you cant do it on here because I had done it and it blocked it out. If we can figure out a way, that would be nice to keep in touch and maybe exchange pictures. I do agree in not taking down the reports. Its not even the paper work that matters, its the health of these poor dogs. How dare her even call to ask that. She must be feeling guilty. I am so glad I tried once more to google this scenerio yesterday and found out some info! I do feel a bit relieved.

I am so sorry to hear your pup is also sick.  I filed the original report - I've updated it twice but cannot see the updates on the website!  I would love to get in touch with other puppy families too but I do not think that you can post email addresses in these reports.  The breeder did contact me after I filed the original report.  She offered to replace my pup (which I declined).  She also stated that the paperwork is on the way (which I still haven't gotten over a month later).  I think we should all, individually, complain to the AKC (I already did that) and the Great Dane Club of PA (did that too).  She told me that she didn't know of any other puppies that were sick and that neither parent ever suffered from mange.  That Mom should not be bred again according to every vet I've spoken to.
