I had my Lincoln MKZ 2008 repaired at G&S Auto. When I picked up my car (after 3 weeks) the bumper was repaired instead of replaced as stated on the receipt. When I went to see the car on 11/30/12, I was informed by the shop owner Lamarr Johnson that the bumper that was clearly the old bumper that had been repaired was only on the car to line it up and they did have a new bumper to put onto the car. Upon seeing the cracking on the bumper after the completion date, I was then told by the manager Nate, that this was a fault of the shop and they would replace the bumper. There are evident cracks in the bumper. Furthermore, the headlight was not a new headlight although the receipt clearly states that it is a new headlight. It is cloudy, scratched, and is now filled up with water. There is also evident faults in the paint job. There is running paint on the fender and bubbling on the hood. There is a very evident scratch on the grill. The windshield washer nozzle is also broken and the tubing is not reassembled correctly so that the windshield washer fluid does not work. The car was at the shop from 11/15/12- 12/5/12. I heard from the shop owner Lamarr Johnson countless times that the car would be ready at then end of the day, and then after calling to inquire myself was then informed that the car was actually not ready and would not be ready until the next day only to repeat the process over again. I was told for 2 weeks straight that my car would be ready on a specific date only to be informed that the repair was not completed.

On 12/18/12, I dropped the car off to have the headlight replaced. At 3:30pm, the time I was to pick the car up, I was informed that the car had not been touched by the secretary. I was informed by Nate that he had to return the part on the car to the supplier and pick up a new part and have it installed. When I got to the shop at 4pm, the part was still on the car and Nate and Lamarr was no where to be found. Furthermore, another worker at the shop informed me that they ordered a part because there were two kind or lights for my car. Apparently there is the broken scratched up kind and the new kind.

Mechanics and repair shops are one of the biggest rip off out there second to lawyers and court system. Several mistakes on your part. Dont just drop off your car and let the shop do what they do. Take specific details clear up on the exact work they will need to do on the car, how much it is going to cost etc. Also never let the shop guys buy parts much cheaper if you bought things online and just have them put it in. You case is simple you shouldnt have payed them until they had the work done.
