I am not sure if I can prove anything that I am about to write, but here goes.
My dealings with G & S started back in July (can't remember for sure of date) when the company had their annual "electronics recycling event" in Steamboat springs, colorado. Prior to the event coming to town, I had an ad in the local newspapers asking for broken electronic items, and someone from yampa valley recycles contacted me about this annual event. I was told I could more than likely have broken items that people bring to this event for recycling purposes. To make a long story short, I showed up, asked a few folks for broken items, and was personally assaulted by employees and management of G & S mountain recyclers. I was completely passive in my actions, but was held down nearly asphyxiated, and very aruptly let go just before the police arrived. There were no other witnesses with the exception of employees of G & S, and they said I started fighting them, so I was taken to jail. I had enough money on me to pay the bond (I think they have a $300 dollar minimum bond), got out, had to walk back there to retrieve my vehicle.

A lady (who also saw everything that happened) was there and said I could retrieve my vehicle. I barely got my notebook back, (it fell when I was forced to the ground earlier that day by G & S mountain recyclers employees) which was there at her table under some other papers.

I also talked to someone affiliated with the non profit group Yampa Valley Recycles, based in Steamboat springs, Colorado. He admitted to assisting in restraining me but did not really know what was going on. I belive a man named Gary Cruson may have been the one that initially wanted to restrain me because I was "talking to his customers". Please note this recycling event was taking place in a public parking lot. I belive also that most of the G & S employees there that day were all in the same family, all Cruson's. The husband Gary, his wife, and two son's.

Like I said, I can't prove anything, but, my hope is others may read this and maybe someone out there has had a similar run in with G & S, or Gary Cruson.
All I was doing was asking for broken items because I like working on electronics, and I also at the time was repairing electronic items as a side job. At the time I had a good full time job though. When this happened to me, I had enough money in my wallet to offer for broken items, I was not trying to scam any one, I was willing to buy the items what ever, TV's, computers, etc.

G & S recyclers is based out of Longmont, Colorado, but they hold these "recycle events" all over Northern colorado. In the case of Steamboat springs, they affiliated themselves with the non-profit Yampa valley recycles, and I feel that is a little deceptive as well. G & S recyclers is a for profit organization, a corporation actually. I belive Gary is the CEO but being a small corporation, I guess Gary goes on these recycle events himself, takes his family with him.

Anyway, I just felt non-violent actions should have been met with non-violent actions, but then I have some odd ideas though.

I pled guilty to the charge of disorderly conduct in connection with this complaint because I found it necessary to relocate elsewhere right away, due to losing my housing because of building code violations. If anyone has a question about THAT, just ask Pat Mosbey, building inspector for Moffat County.

first, patrick, I was invited to go and it was mentioned to me that I could probably have a few broken electronic items if I showed up and asked for them. Otherwise I had no plans to attend the event.

Quote from "Guido" above: "I on the other hand would have this person contact me so that we can discuss this matter .......... in person as I [ 6'2' 240lbs ] am not prone to accepting verbal or physical abuse by a whining .......... not ever my fault ......... POS such as this accuser!"

Could someone please translate this I don't understand what is being written, unless it means this company G & S wants to eliminate anyone that might be a possible competitor or threat to their profit margins. If "Guido" wants to contact me, then why don't you just post you comment to me on this site, that's what it's here for. Let's get this issue behind us, with my electronics knowledge I could be of great benefit to G & S. I am all for going green, recycling, I don't have anything against it. My issue is with the way Gary runs his buisness and his dealings with the public in public domain.

For my complaint to be illegal, It would have to contain untrue or exaggeratted material.

They put on the event and you went there to see what you could get. Sounds like you got what you deserved. I'm sure you were probly asked to leave before it got to the point it did.

I have personally known the folks [ Gary,Jean and Scott] at G & S Mountain Recyclers for 10 years and can not believe a word of this person's statement .
.
Gary would give you the shirt off of his back if you "really needed it" !
.
This matter was thoroughly investigated by law enforcement and the proper person was arrested and found guilty.
.
Although Gary has stated the accuser became mad over something very trivial , Gary told me that if this person would have not assaulted [ verbally or physically ]he or Scott he would have been more than generous to him , for just walking away.
.
Knowing Gary ......... I believe him .
.
I will temper my statement with ............. although I've never seen Gary, Jean or Scott loose their temper ........ with more than a terse comment !
.
These are God fearing folks that believe in helping those less fortunate than themselves ........ whether with a used computer, food or money !
.
Shame on this person ! !
.
I on the other hand would have this person contact me so that we can discuss this matter .......... in person as I [ 6'2" 240lbs ] am not prone to accepting verbal or physical abuse by a whining .......... not ever my fault ......... POS such as this accuser!
.
This matter needs to be removed [ amended at the least as this site claims that they will never remove anything ]and an apology issued .....by the accuser ............period ! !
.
Any thing less will be considered and possible further legal action taken ..... one could possibly seek assistance from the prosecuting attorney and the judge ...... there is such a thing as reasonable contrition ......which I have been told is the fact that if you are found guilty of assualt or similar items ..... you must not take your guilty verdict as a reason to then continue to verbally or physically abuse them .........that can lead to further legal action, such as contempt of court.
.
Just one man's opinion ..............
.
Go green ......... your grandchildren, great grandchildren .... etc........ will love you for it .............. long after you have passed over ..... to the other side :-)
