We had the unfortunate bad luck to be introduced to Bill Gaffney when we were trying to obtain funding for our sandwich shop.  This man preys on the dreams and desperation of people trying to obtain monies for their businesses.

He was given a full business proposal and information, which had he been a real broker, would have told him either this could be packaged to his lenders or it couldn't.  He told us it could be done in 60-90 days, pay him upfront, $4500, he wanted 10K at first, but "gave us a break" and then he referred us to an "investor" Rob Ritch, who stole another $3500 of our money.

This has been a year ago.  There have been multiple emails back and forth, where he apologized about Rob Ritch, says he didn't know he wasn't real and basically stealing people's money.  He said he was sorry, the deal was undoable, and he would refund our money.  He knew at the outset whether it was a doable deal or not and if he knew it wasn't he should have NEVER taken our money.  He took our money so that he could spend all summer at the beach, which was where he was every time we tried to talk to him.  It was always, don't worry, 60-90 days.

He finally said he would refund the fees, but to date we have not seen ONE penny and I doubt we ever will.  We are trying to find legal avenues to have both him and Rob Ritch charged.  They again, are preying on people who just want to get their business going and have the idea or the dream, but not the means.

I feel stupid to have been suckered, but stupidity and legality aren't necessarily one and the same.  I believe these men to be charlatans, frauds and liars.  STAY FAR AWAY FROM BOTH!!  He has a partner in Florida also, by the name of Chris Russo.

This guy is a real "class act". He is supposed to have a background in finance (V.P. Business Development and so forth). If his deal is so great, why couldn't he come up with an interested investor? I suggest he stop going to the gym 3-times a day and GO TO WORK!-I have deals to close for QUALIFIED customers. If anyone reading this would like to talk to one of them, please call our office at (484)879-6189. PS: I don't know why it is a crime to go to the Jersey Shore in the summer with your family. This guy lives in west Palm Beach!

Another Gaffney lie

Oh, Mr. Gaffney stated in his rebuttal that the "client" (his 'mark'), wanted MILLIONS in funding.  The original amount was approximately $300K that we were trying to find.  This was one of Rob Ritch's things as well.  He said to us, oh that's too small an amount, I'm going to get you at least $1M, then you can open more than one shop!

The fact that he is stating "the client refused to continue working on his project" is a blatant lie.  We continued doing everything possible, up until the time we realized that the 60-90 day funding was NEVER going to happen.

Pining your hopes and dreams on this man and his company is a waste of your time and money.  Whether your idea is viable or not, he will take your money, DON'T give it to him.

Good try Gaffney

The client told Mr. Gaffney, up front, that they had no more funds to invest in this idea - a sandwich shop.  It was made crystal clear from the beginning.  There was no strangling by an equity partner in NY.  What was said by Mr. Gaffney is that he knew it would be a little tough, but he had no doubt he could get it funded.  He might have to roll it in with other deals, something, but pay him the $4500 and he would absolutely get it done.  Again, we heard 60-90 days and you'll be funded more times than I can count.

Mr. Gaffney would also like to dismiss out of hand his introduction to Rob Ritch.  How interesting that he didn't find him "not legit" until after we complained multiple times and also paid Mr. Ritch.  Mr. Ritch is absolutely a straight up thief.  Please note that we have ALL email correspondence and have filed a complaint with the FBI Internet Fraud division against both of these people/businesses.

What happened to us is that we wanted to open our store, we knew it would do well, but didn't have the personal funds to make it happen.  Again, Mr. Gaffney knew this from the beginning.  Mr. Gaffney wants his fees, upfront, and makes assertions regarding his ability to fund your deal.  He continuously stated that he was "working on it" and would have funding within 60-90 days.  How lucky for him that he collects fees upfront so he can spend time at the beach.

The only reason that he had any problems with this "client" (read instead 'mark') is that he did NOTHING other than take money upfront and not provide ANY service.  He said he would refund our money, he has done nothing but have his partner, Chris Russo in Miami, send unprofessional emails threatening to sue us for slander and libel.  NOTHING that has been said constitutes slander or libel.  The truth is the truth.

False Statements and Accusations

This client came to Gaffney Funding, LLC to obtain funding for a start up sandwich shop. When introduced, they were being strangled by an equity partner in NY, which I swiftly dismissed. Due to the fact that they had no money to invest into their project, we were limited as to where we could place them. We had an interested equity group in TN. After traveling to meet the group and contact their references, they appeared to be legit. However, they were not. Immediately, we cut ties to them and placed the file with other credible people. The client refused to continue working on his project and had internal strife with his own partner who was supposed to put money into the deal. Bottom line, this client wants Millions in funding a high risk project without taking ANY risk of their own and certainly none of THEIR money. Our reputation is impeccable. We have many satisfied customers, hence why we provide references. $4500 wasn't enough to deal with this guy! I didn't even want to dignify this with a response, but the truth is we met at his site, proposed to over eight equity groups and had to deal with his nonsense every step of the way. I don't like sandwiches anymore!
