GALAXY MALL RIPPED OFF THIS OLD MANS MONEY. A POX ON GALAXY MALL.

On 12 Sept. 2000, I attended a free meeting in Las Vegas, NV. by Galaxy Mall. At that meeting I was told how the Internet was the way to market anything and was presented with some examples including one about a cookie girl who was making a fortune. I later learned she was the daughter of the Company President. Obviously she did it all on her own.

At the free meeting, I was given the opportunity to attend an all day Internet marketing workshop valued at $7,500 for a $20 scholarship. I was allowed to bring another person so I drove 300 miles to Utah to bring my son to the workshop.

At the workshop, we were both convinced this was the way to make money on the Internet even though neither of us had a computer nor had we any Internet experience. Therefore, I purchased 6 Internet web sites or storefronts for about $5,000. I put part on my credit card and financed the rest.

At the time, the information was confusing and I did not have a product to sell. Shortly thereafter, I received a call offering tutoring and banners. I understood it to be a package deal so, believing it would put me on the fast track to getting a site up and running, I signed up for tutoring at $595, a banner license for $595 and $6,000 for banners. I put all this on 2 credit cards.

The tutoring was of marginal help and, as far as I have been able to tell, the banners were non-existent. It took over a year before I was able to get everything to come together to get my site up. I had to pay extra to extend my storefronts for another year so as not to loose them.

I chose one of Galaxy Malls templates for my storefront but was told it would not work as I wanted it to. Therefore, I told them to choose one that would work. The one they chose had some problems they were unable to work out. As it was already over a year, I just went with it rather than to try to get it right.

The banners were the same way. They were not able to make them the way I requested and were not able to utilize the animations I sent them. Again, I had to settle for banners inferior to my desires. I have never seen even one of my banners displayed anywhere and know of no one else who has seen one. I never received any reports telling me how many banners had been used. I have my doubts any were. Further, in the year my web site was operational, it averaged less than 2 visits per day. Total 421, with no, none, zip, zilch sales at all. Banners, what banners?

My understanding had been that any orders would automatically be transmitted to my wholesaler for them to drop ship. Galaxy Mall said they could not do that. They would E-mail any orders to me and I would have to transmit them to my wholesaler. Even though I received no orders, I had to be constantly checking my E-mail looking for any. Definitely not an automated system.

I also understood, from what was told at the workshop, that Galaxy Mall would be advertising to bring visitors to their mall where visitors could access all the storefronts on their mall. I do not believe they ever did any such advertising. If they did, it was very little.

My site was listed in a manner in which no one looking for my product would be likely to find. I had knives, swords and combination tools. My site was listed under; 1. Sports and fitness: Outdoors, 2. Gift Boutique: Sports, 3. Gift Boutique: Outdoors and 4. Regional: Nevada. I had a page which said I could not ship to Nevada. Therefore, 3 of the 4 listings were utterly useless.

On 13 Jan. 2002 I watched Dateline on TV. The program was about Galaxy Mall being a scam. Subsequently, I wrote letters to various people including the U.S. Dept. of Justice, the Utah Attorney General, the Better Business Bureau and the Utah Commissioner for Economic Development. For the most part, I received no assistance. The Better Business Bureau tried but only received a letter saying that Dateline was an entertainment program and, as a business man, I should have known what I was doing. The Commissioner for Economic Development wrote Galaxy Mall saying they thought I should, be entitled to at least a partial refund. I dont believe Galaxy Mall answered that letter. If so, I was not informed.

At this time, my site has been removed from Galaxy Mall because I did not want to give them more money for no results. I do not know how much money this scam has cost me. I am still paying interest on the money I used from my credit cards which I have been unable to pay off yet. I had hoped this venture would supplement my retirement pay, not devastate it.

If there is anyone initiating a class action suit against Galaxy Mall, I would like to know about it. I dont know if Galaxy Mall has broken any Utah laws but, Utah is Mormon Country and I would hate to think their deceptive practices would be condoned by the people of Utah.

What SOL has done to me is no less than what theyve done to you. However, I REFUSE to be an SOL VICTIM! I urge each and every one of you to refuse to be disheartened by this heartless company that rapes free citizens of hopes, dreams, and financial freedom. Do one of the following or all of them, let your voice be heard and stand up for your freedom and rights!

1. Write your complaint to the Better Business Bureau of UT. Dont just complain, EXPLAINprovide factual information and documentation. State exactly what you want! If you feel SOL owes you money for unhonored contractual obligations, then say itI want a refund of $.... due to SOLs refusal to uphold their contractual agreement. If several months go by, send them a followup status report. Send to: Better Business Bureau of UT, 5673 South Redwood Road, #22, Salt Lake City, UT 84123-5322. Phone: (801) 892-6009.

2. Did you purchase your business package before you became a business? In other words, were you purchasing as a consumer or business-to-business? If you were a consumer purchasing this business before you became a legal business entity, then you have rights under the Consumer Protection Agency. Tell them you were a consumer at the time. Request a legal mediation or arbitration! Send your complaint and factual documentation to: Division of Consumer Protection, Heber M. Wells Building, Second Floor, 160 East 300 South, SM 146704, Salt Lake City, UT 84114; (801) 350-6601.

3. Are you ready to start a class action lawsuit? Go to World Justice at www.worldjustice.com. Theyre a legal resource center that provides free services and a forum to submit your complaint. Send your complaint and EXPLAINprovide factual information. A lawyer will review the complaints. If we can get several hundred to several thousands of people to submit a complaint, we have a good chance at a class action lawsuit!

4. Send a copy of your complaint and all attachments to your State agencies. They need to know whats going on in your community! Send info to: County Attorney, State Attorney General, Consumer Protection, State Senator and Congressman.

5. Send a copy of your complaint to the FBIs Cybercrime Unit. Once again, EXPLAIN and send factual information (i.e., if the disc SOL gave you in the tool builder kit is worthless, send it as evidence). Back up your complaint with info on these forums, the BBB of UTs bad business report, documentation of SOL refusing to honor their contractual agreements with you. Send what you can to: Cybercrime Task Force (FBI), 5272 South College Drive, 2nd Floor, Murray, UT 84123.

6. Need to contact Stores Onlines Customer Services that handles complaints? Talk to Tammy Chandler, Customer Services, at (801) 227-0004. SOL is required to have a department to handle the large volume of complaints that have been submitted to the BBB of UT.

7. Protect yourself while protecting others! SOL has a listing of cities and states they are hosting these scam conferences. Go to: www.iregnow.com. There you will find if SOL is hosting a conference in your city. Remember, you have a right to assemble (as long as its peaceful and within the confines of the law!). Picket, pass out info from these forums to these unsuspecting guests, hand out BBB of UT company reports, etc. Contact the media in your area and inform them of whats going on a week or two in advancethe newspaper, commentaries, TV news stations, etc. You can even take it a step further and contact NBC Dateline and offer them an exclusive followup on their previous show (a chance to be a hero vs. a victim?) Someone out there may have contacts to 60 minutes, Barbara Walters. Make the public aware of whats going on!

I only started looking into this a few months ago and at first felt shocked, overwhelmed, disheartened. Now, Im tickednot so angry as to get even or hurt myself, but ready to stand up as a free citizen and protect my rights that so many have died trying to defend. Ive sincerely tried working with SOL, and they just simply dont want to cooperate or uphold their contractual duties. I decided this past week that I am not willing to be another one of their victims in a long-standing list that has been accumulating over the past several years. I dont know if Ill get the refund Im requesting, but I do know thisI have a new goal with my partnership with SOL. I REFUSE TO BE A VICTIM. Im taking action, how about you?!
