Laborious stories about "rich clients whose families are badly in need of desparate sales", "financial ruin in the Art world", "oportunity of a lifelime". Inappropriate calling times for "invesetments". Possibilities for "Suite Packaging" for future sales and/ or trading? "Flash and Dash" salespeople?
Does any of this sound familar?!?
When I was first contacted by this company back in 1994, I was looking for a small picture from a particular artist. One photo, no more no less. The sales representative (art conselor) Nigel Goddard suggested a variant and promised he would be able to sell that variant at any time.
Long story short: dozens of paintings later, other art dealers, and after contacting 3 or 4 appraisers other than the "famed appraiser":

the "appraised value of the artwork was 1/50 of what was given. Most of the "pulp art" this bunco company has sold since its inception (1988?) has been compared to pretty toilet paper for less- than -seedy hotels.
I have abolutely no qualms about trying to sue and/or close this company, but they have undoubtedly utilized their "over the border legalities" to prove that there is a sucker born every second.
