I bought a dslr  camera back in july 2011. I was approved and started making pmts. I was told by a customer service rep that if i needed to skip a pmt for whatever reason that i could do so. just call and ask. that day rolled around and i called and either reached india or the phillipines or somewhere that was not american and they were so rude and told me kindly i could not skip a pmt as i was only a few pmts into my contract. Not what i had been told.

I then had no choice but to close my bank act. I lost the equipment due to a family member not giving it back and still wont and now i cannot even return it. i would if i had it but cannot do so....so now the rest of the story. i have since had family member who passed in november 2011 and then had pneumonia and lost another family member and was checked into the hospital with a nervous breakdown. The terms that had been available to me to to try and resolve this are not available and the emails i have received from the vp of the company are unbelievably condescending. I have repeatedly advised i do not have the merchandise and i still keep getting the same reply. here is one of the last emails i got from mr steven katz himself............ :

I am sorry that you are going thru tough times and I would like to help you but in order to approve a $500 early buyout then that payment would have to be made today or I need a commitment that it will be made within the next few days. You are currently in collections for $166.11 and have not made a single payment to us since 10/10/2011.  The $500 buyout amount was a courtesy reduction given to you by me when your account was in good standing.

That offer should really be void now that you are delinquent but I can still honor it, if you either agree to pay now and not have any further obligations to Gallery Homestore or agree to return the merchandise to us also without any further obligations to Gallery Homestore. There is normally a restocking fee that Is associated with return but can be waived as long as you agree to return item if payment cant be made. According to the agreement that you signed with us, the real early buyout figure as of today is $849.44 so I hope you realize that I am doing my best to be reasonable about this.

*********in no way were the original terms i had discussed with someone else at the company ever extended again. I wonder if this company realizes real people struggle and do they ever take real pity on people? I am not sleeping, having a hard time eating and dealing with this.
