Ignore It. I think its a scam, I agree with what was said before. They know most wont pay the $300+ plane ticket to go to this "court". plus if there was you would win, and get money from them for your trouble and plane ticket most likely. I would give advice on just sit tight and dont worry about it. Its most likely a scam, to scare you in giving them money. So untill you get a call from a court house, or police come. I would give advice on just ignore them and forget about it. just check your credit once a week to make sure, as a precaution but i doubt they can do anything.


IF IF IF nothing else, then recover it and give it back.. but that can be a scam also.. as if it was bought by someone you stole it from them (screwing yourself). which you would give it to them to resell, and they will call you again in another year for it again probably.

I received the same letter from this Credit Company regarding gamepal and a transaction that happened a year ago. They refuse to provide any proof of what they accuse you of, other than a phone call they supposedly made to the Entertainment Company. I doubt the phone call ever even took place. They don't even provide you with dates, times or the person whom they spoke with. You just get the response from Gamepal or the collection agency that the Entertainment Company provided them with this information, which is a false statement. The Entertainment Company will not release personal information such as whose name the account is in, billing information or any of that, unless you can prove that you are the original owner. Gamepal has no way of doing that. Therefore, their statements regarding any information they received such as that, are false. What they are doing is trying to find optional means of generating income for their Company. You can look all over the Internet and see this exact thing. You are not alone in what is going on.

I filed a claim with the BBB, my state and NC Attorney General as well as the Federal Trade Commission. I feel both of these Companies are in the wrong. If Gamepal is submitting false claims on people and the collection agency is reporting false claims, or claims that are being challenged, and they can neither provide proof of the allegations, that is not ok.

What we need to do is everyone that is experiencing this, needs to write the Attorney Generals offices in their state and in NC, as well as the BBB and FTC. These people need to be looked in to.

Someone mentioned in an earlier post, that you would no doubt win in small claims court. Well yeah, Gamepal is a company that operates illegally. They buy and sell another company's Copyrighted material. That is their whole business. However, they know that most people won't go to all that trouble for a claim of $500-$1500.00

Now I don't know if they will actually post anything on your credit report. I'm not sure if they can. If I see that it comes up on mine, I will then write the Credit Bureaus.

I kind of feel that they are trying to strong arm people into giving in and I am sure a lot of people send them the money and move on or call the Entertainment Company and have the account recalled. For those of us who don't, they are trying to make us feel that our Credit is at risk. I don't owe them any money and they have no way of showing that I would. If there is much investigation done into the matter, the truth will be found and it will not be to their liking.

I can't stress enough about how you should write the collection agency back within the 30 days they give you and dispute the charges. Keep accurate records of emails and letters you get from Gamepal and the Collection Agency, as well as copies of what you send them. If they call you, jot down the day, time and name of who contacted you. The more information you have, is the more information you have against them. Keep it all in a file and write the people that I listed above. Tell them your story and what is going on. Enclose any information that you have such as letter copies etc. They are here to help protect you. There are many ways of submitting a complaint and you can find the websites to those places by google-ing it.

Stand up for yourself. If several people end up writing the BBB, AGO, FTC, they will have more backing and more reasoning to look deeper into what is going on.

I wouldn't worry about it. Lets look at it in a logical perspective. First off Gamepal is a illegal operation because its against the eula to buy/sell accounts that belong to the corresponding mmo companies. The second big thing is, when you call a place like Blizzard or Plaync they do not give out private information unless you can prove if you are the original owner.

Now, if Gamepal could get that far into getting private information from them then they would be able to reset the account. But they can't so its impossible for them to get any real information from Blizzard, Plaync etc. Its obvious the people running gamepal aren't from this country and don't understand the jurisdiction system here. You can't just make a claim without solid proof that this person has done what you claimed. And no saying you made a phone call and someone told you something isn't solid proof. Dates, times, documents and etc should be required. In this case someone like Plaync or Blizzard would have to send records showing what gamepal claimed.

But its ironic because something like this wouldn't happen since mmo companies work to shut places like Gamepal down. I too got a letter through mail stating that I owed $564.00. When I called their collection agency they said because I recalled a account from gamepal and now I owe them this much. I asked them whats the proof of this? They said gamepal said they called plaync and they said I did it. This was the most comical thing I've ever heard in my life. So I'm completely ignoring their claim. You not only NOT own your account, its property to Blizzard. But when you illegally sold your account to gamepal they took all responsibility to it as well.

And like myself its been a long time since you dealt with gamepal. For me 2 years for you 1 year. So think about how many times your account has changed hands since then. Which makes it so that anyone of them who owned it can recall the account. Gamepal knows they can't remotely file a claim against those who had the account after the original owner, so they are going for the original owner instead in hopes of getting extra money from them.

Do like I did, write the BBB on these guys and get the company shutdown. Be sure to link them all of these cases and others because its the "solid proof" that gamepal rips off consumers and tries to take advantage of them.
