Gandy Construction AKA MGA Roofing Put a horrible roof on my house and then went out of business and started doing business as another company Rochester Michigan
The Gandy Construction company has committed fraud. First they have performed many bad roofing and windows installation jobs and left the customer hanging without a resolution. Then two of the owners of the company decided to take the money, assets, sales force and marketing materials and started doing business as MGA Roofing. If you call the original Gandy 800 number you will now get MGA Roofing and they claim they just acquired the 800 number after Gandy went out of business. Do not do any business with MGA roofing or it is likely you will get ripped off the same way from the same people that ripped me off.
They put a roof on my house and then when I was actually on the roof and saw some problems I called them however they were out of business by then (36 days later). So now I am stuck with a horrible roofing job and a huge financial burden. There are many authorities investigating this situation and I hope they end up in jail like they deserve. The owner of MGA roofing (Sam Something) should also be put in jail since he knew about this and went along with it. All I want is my roof fixed.

Hired this bunch to replace all my windows. They showed up. I asked for a copy of my paper work and they said it would be coming from the office. I asked for the permit they were suppose to pull and they said that was at the office and would be coming. To make a long story short, they were here in Oct. 08. it is July and they have still not come out to fix some minor problems, and you have guessed it. They finally confessed to never pulling the permit as required! I will be willing to give more details of this affair to anyone who will listen...

I just got off the phone with the owner, SAM JASKIEWICZ.
We called MGA in March of last year because the roof in our home was leaking. We had several bids and every company said the same thing, the roof was too warm and was causing ice dams. MGA's representative told us we needed ridge vents which would lower the temperature in the roof and resolve the problems. He offered us a two-year leak-proof guarantee.
After the new roof was installed, the roof leaked again and they returned. The man who came found several problems and ripped off and replaced a good section of the roof and the gutters they installed.
By that time it was summer, and we had no real problems over the summer. The first real storm of this past fall hit and the roof immediately began leaking again. We called and left a message with the service on a Sunday and got no reply. Finally, desperately, we called 5 days later (Christmas Eve) and they sent someone to fix the issue. The guy who came to fix the issue damaged the roof, the fascia and the siding. He told us the ridge vents are not properly done, there are some "other problems", and the gutters were not clean (my wife actually cleaned the gutters two weeks before the storm so they were not bad at all.) He said he would call us and arrange a time to come and remediate the problems.
When I had not heard from him several weeks later, I called back and got Adam. Adam claimed he was not expecting to call us at all and claimed the man who came had told him the problem was due to debris in the gutter. My wife, who is not in construction, told him she could tell the gutters are pitched wrong and he agreed to come and look. He agreed the gutters are pitched wrong but said nothing could be done because of the cold weather. He also advised her that the attic is still too warm and that we needed to adjust the insulation in the attic and pay hundreds of dollars to make changes to our heating system located in the attic.
I decided to call the owner to find out why, if the answer to our problems is all this heating and insulation remediation, his representative sold me a new roof and told me the answer was to have them redesign the ventilation in our roof.
The owner, SAM JASKIEWICZ, just hung up on me after screaming at me. Among my favorite quotes he stated, "I am not a ventilation company. Ventilation and roofing are totally different companies." "I am not responsible for what the representative told you." "I hope I go out of business because I am going out of business because of people like you."
This company preys on uneducated consumers. I owe thousands of dollars for this roof and gutters, and it leaks worse than it did last year. If they have FINALLY correctly identified the problem as being an issue with the insulation, and I don't trust that because they have diagnosed our problems 3 times before incorrectly, then I did not need a new roof. I still do not understand why I was promised that the ridge vents would properly regulate the temperature in the attic when I am now being told by the owner that he cannot do anything with ventilation and that this all has nothing to do with the roof. If the problem has always been caused by insulation and heating, then an ethical roofer would not have sold me a roof I didn't need.
You would think he would at least send someone to help us with the insulation, but all he did was offer to charge me to have his representative help with the insulation. Considering he sold me a new roof I didn't need, I would think this would have been the right thing to do. however, he claims he's not responsible for my buying the roof, that he didn't make me sign the contract and in fact, denies he told me I needed a new roof at all. Apparently, I beat him up in an ally and forced him to sell me a roof!
This man has no concept of customer service or even a contract. Silly me to think that a two year leak proof warranty would mean that my home would not leak!
Now I am going to have to try to go to court and see if the courts will do anything for me. Our entire Christmas was ruined because he wouldn't call back when I called their "24 hour emergency line" and he just screamed at me on the phone that his employees are entitled to Christmas too!
This man is as unamerican as you can get. Please don't become his next victim!

I have no knowledge of MGA outside of the facts stated below and cannot accuse MGA of any wrong-doing in its business practices.
However, Your response to this complaint is not factually accurate!
As a former contractor who was ripped off by Gandy Construction and its owners, I know first-hand that there IS a significant association between MGA and Gandy. Steve Ingalls, one of the Gandy Owners, closed the doors at Gandy, left untold numbers of us unpaid, and marched right over to your office with open orders, employees and select contract sales people. I suppose I understand you wanting to distance yourself from Gandy, but that is impossible.
You are correct that MGA was in business separate of Gandy when Gandy was in business, but you clearly associated yourself with Gandy when it closed. Coming off so strongly in your rebuttal is misleading at best, dishonest at worst. For those of us who were formerly associated with Gandy, and who lost money because of it, our "research" is done.
