I am writing this as an addendum to a letter written to Garber Travel Service. My regular Garber Travel office was not available and I was directed to Garber Travel Service on Milk St in Boston to arrange for a business meeting in Sao Paulo.

The Garber Travel office on Milk St is managed by Michelle DaCosta who has not replied to my letter or any phone calls.

When I arrived at Logan Airport I discovered none of my upgrades or special meals had been requested. I worked with the airline to process them at the ticket counter.

When I arrived at Sao Paulo airport there was no car service to take me to my hotel. When I arrived at the hotel they had my arrival date as the day before and informed me they were sold out. After working with the manager for 1/2 hour he finally agreed to give me a room but insisted I pay for the night before! Then I discovered at checkout that I was booked for charged the standard corporate rate and not the lower negotiated rate!

I called Garber Travel's Emergency Travel Service on several occassions to get help. At first the phone numbers on my itinerary did not work. I finally called collect and several times the phone just rang with no answer. I eventually got through and spoke to a Jim, Deb and John on several occassions. I was made to feel like all the problems were because I did not properly request my itinerary with the Garber Travel at Milk St.

My advise to all corporate travelers is if you are looking for a high quality corporate travel service - stay away from Garber Travel Service. Go to American Express Travel or Carlson Wagonlit Travel!
