Garner Properties & Management LLC Slum Lords Taylor Michigan
We leased 7084 Yacht Ave in Warren, Michigan on April 1, 2014 from Garner Properties & Management. Prior to signing our lease we asked for the following to be repaired:
-broken window
- broken mail box
- driveway
- removal of inspection stickers on front window
- Repair of garage side entry door
None of those items where repaired. We also sent a letter via fax as well as via USPS certified mail on April 3, 2014 to request the repair of the above as well as
- the low water pressure from the kitchen sink
- leaking pipes in the kitchen
- clean up of water in basement from bursted water pipes.
They did not respond.
I then sent another letter on April 6, 2014 to request the above items be repaired again plus additional items after we completed our move in inspection report.
- beetle infestation
-exposed pipes
- leaking water from outside pipes
- inoperable shower
-left over hazardous tools and materials
-inoperable smoke dectector
- plasic holding fixtures in bathtub together
-broken glass in front entry way as well as side door
- basement windows taped together
-none of the electrical plugs working in main bedroom
-None of the electrical plugs working in the basement
I contacted Garner Properties
5 times via phone on 4.1.14
2 times via phone on 4.2.14 8:59 am & 12:54 pm
Once on 4.3.14 12:54 spoke with Brandon about repairs and clean up of water
Once on 4.5.14 2:39 pm spoke with Jen about repairs
Once on 4.8.14 at 3:52 pm spoke with Natalie about the repairs
We just want our money back for the security deposit and 1st month rent, as well as damages incurred because the property was not ready as promised. We could not even move into the property due to it's condition.

Im puzzeled by some inconsistancies in your report..first you say this...I then sent another letter on April 6, 2014 to request the above items be repaired again plus additional items after we completed our move in inspection report. then you post this...... We could not even move into the property due to it's condition and then demand this...We just want our money back for the security deposit and 1st month rent, as well as damages incurred because the property was not ready as promised. So you start the process on April 1st and by the time ONE WEEK has passed you have started making more and more demands. So which is it?? Did you move in or not. It sounds like you did. And it sounds like you are just looking for reasons to make demands on them. You dont even give them an appropriate amount of time to start meeting YOUR DEMANDS. If they havent started on the projects YOU think are a issue by the first month THEN start with the demands. To post a negative review WITHOUT giving them a chance to fix the problems shows that YOU know how to get YOUR WAY. But in this case, I doubt that they are going to do anything and will just let you move out and THEN smack you with some nice HEFTY ETF. You need to give them time to do as you have requested. By NOT giving them that time, and by posting THIS report, you have commited a CRIME!!!! Im going to forward your complaint to thier LEGAL DEPT. It MAY get you some assistance, but Im betting they will be VERY unhappy with YOUR post and MAY go after you in civil court. Im guessing YOU are a female or a male that has no skill in repairs. Odds are that you have to do little things like trip the circut breaker to get power to rooms. But hey thats all on you. Much like YOUR report. I would hate to be in YOUR shoes when they go after you. Businesses have really started ramping up the lawsuits for internet postings. Its because YOU the poster are under the VERY SAME LAWS that the PRINTED PUBLIATIONS MUST FOLLOW. Ignorance of those Laws is ZERO protection for you. Good Luck....Youre going to need it.
