Complaint Review: Gary Schmalz

Gary Schmalz agreed to build me an addition on to my existing home. He wrote out a contract in which it is very vague. Everything that he did was either a bad job or didn't meet code.

Gary was supposed to finish the job but never came back after the rough construction was done. He was supposed to give an allowance out of the money we paid for things such as windows, flooring, and lighting which he never did. Gary says that it was supposed to come out of our pockets.

There are no materials to finish the job but he said that all of the materials are there.

Basically, he ripped us off and on top of that built an addition that does not meet code and not the way that he agreed to build it.
