We bought a truck for my husband at the end of september. It was 17,000 dollars for this 2001 dodge ram 2500 4X4 . it had 100,000 miles on it when we bought it but, we knew gary thompson, the dealer and he said he knew the guy that had it before and it was well taken care of. WE told gary that 100,000 miles was kind of alot of miles, and he replied " Not for a diesel its not they last 300,000 miles or longer". So automatically we think this truck is gonna last for a while. So not even 3 months after the truck was bought it died and it costed us 5000.00 dollars to fix it. The transmission, the fuel pump and the tranfer pump. So we had to take out another loan just to fix it, and its been hard on us, because me and my husband had just got married sept 17. Still the truck is not running right, it surges and the air conditioner quit. So if u were gonna spend 17 grand on a truck wouldn't you expect it to run for a little longer than 3 months? Please help us because were paying 800 a month just for the payment and the loan to fix it and believe me its not worth it!

WHY?

Why spend $17,000 for a 2001 truck???

Why spend $17,000 for a 2001 truck with 100,000 miles on it and NOT have it checked out by YOUR mechanic BEFORE you buy it???

I guess I'm stupid.
