Complaint Review: Gaslamp Bikes And Pedicabs

Gaslamp Bikes & Pedicabs is one of the newer pedicab services in San Diego, serving the downtown ballpark area. It also lists "Pedicabs" and "Pedicabs in the Gaslamp" as its business name in the yellow pages, all having the 17th Street address and the same business telephone number. No matter what name it uses, this is the worst pedicab service in San Diego, using the worst sort of driver, and supplying the rudest service to its customers.

The pedicab drivers congregate outside of the 17th Street office, and shout rude comments at drivers when traffic tries to get around them. They are a constant traffic hazard when navigating the downtown streets, where traffic is already heavily congested. The new ballpark's poor location has increased the traffic there on game nights to a greater level than before its construction (obviously), and the wide and awkward pedicabs hinder the smooth flow of traffic that much more. The drivers act like they impede the traffic deliberately at times, even when they don't have any customers with them.

It is rare that a pedicab ever even has a customer. The number of pedicabs in the small downtown area is far greater than the need for this type of transport service, but that doesn't lessen the number of pedicabs put out for service. All the downtown San Diego pedicab companies are at fault in this instance, but the pedicabs of Gaslamp Bikes & Pedicabs (or whatever business name it uses for its 17th Street address) is, by far, the worst. It is a useless business offering inferior serivice by rude employees.
