What about all the $$$ made by the companies that bought the list? how much did they make from using the 'protected' individuals, who did they sell their list to?? and for how much??
the data that was sold by Gateway Learning/Hooked on Phonics included info about the children of the consumers of their product. Consumers who when they made purchases, were guaranteed that Hooked on Phonics would not reveal personal info.
Hooked on phonics later amended their privacy policy, but did not delete names of consumers previously guaranteed that privacy was protected when they rented and later sold consumer info.
