GE Capital Auto disaster for this Service member *Consumer Suggestion
GE capital routinely calls me about every 2 days in reference to an under payment they say I owe. I have all the statements they send me that have no mention of any past due payments. The collections department will call my house for past due payments, I explain to them that I do not have any past due payments and that they need to check their records and the statements they send to me.
Every time I ask for an account manager to speak to they give me the number to their automated account information line. This company does not even have my ssn as the ssn listed on my account I have tried numerous times to clear this up. I have faxed them copies of my Military ID and personal information numerous times.
When I even pulled up my credit report, they are not even listed as the account holders, how did this happen. My husband has talked numerous times to different departments to resolve these issues but it seems that none of these departments are talking to each other or share the same computer tracking systems. Being a service member and in the wakes of what recent events have transpired I know that my call to duty has arrived.
The last thing I want my husband to worry about is GE capital and their incompetence he has enough to be concerned with his 4 children and his Army wife. Oh by the way they don't acceptmilitary allotments or checking account drafts.
My next step is JAG.

Listen up...get your a$ over to JAG ASAP !! Bring everything with you and get them to help you. And then take it one step further. I want you to ask JAG about "The Soldiers and Sailors Relief Act". If you qualify (and I'm betting you do) you can postpone a great many payments until your deployment is over. And at no penalty to you. No extra accrued interest, no late penalty fees, etc. It just extends the time you have to pay everything back.
Go for it troop, and good luck to you. Stay safe and God speed!!
