I was contacted today by a rep named Jonathan Francis and was a Sr loan officer with GE Capital Personal Finance. I was told I was eligible for a loan of $10K and was given repayment terms and conditions. Once I contacted them, I was instructed to pay $350 for loan insurance. RED FLAG Loans in general do not require insurance; that is an option at the beginning when getting the loan and the insurance is calculated into the repayment terms....... Please be careful when you have poor credit because people will prey upon those who need financial assistance immediately and you can make poor or rash decisions when a considerable loan is offered....... I've been scammed once before. Screw me once, shame on you.... Screw me twice, shame on me!!!

There is no such company.  Google is your friend here.  GE does not make consumer loans and hasn't for some time now.

This is a typical example of an advance fee loan scam, and not a very clever example.    The obviously cut-and-pasted GE logo is a dead giveaway.   They didn't even bother to spend 5 min. editing the color.    The second clue is the absurdly poor english used in the letter.   Business communications from large corporations are typically above the 6th grade level.

While these scammers try and pass themselves off as high profile companies, it is usually very easy to spot them if you pay attention to the details.
