Complaint Review: GE Money Bank

GE Money Bank I've always paid my Lowes credit card on time and pay more then the minimum Kettering, Ohio

GE Money Bank sent me a letter saying my credit line is being lowered based on a review. I've always paid my Lowes credit card on time and pay more then the minimum. GE Money Bank Company's have decided to target the card holders who pay on time or more then the minimum by changing or eliminating grace periods and lowering credit line limits for no reason.

I think, other then to collect fees. Once I again pay off the balance I will not use the card and recommend others do the same. Do not apply for a Lowes Credit Card with GE Money Bank.

HOME DEPOT is also A GEMB mess

Do not get a Home Depot card either. You will have the same problems with HD as you have had with Lowe's

I agree with Cory - write to Lowes CFO and tell them they lost a long time customer - I did that with JCPENNEY's when GEMB screwed up my account and won't fix it. They also did the same to my Home Depot account years ago which I had closed immediately upon learning of the unauthorized change that was made at that time. Low and behold - they did again with my JCP account.

I was not aware at when I closed Home Dept account or opened JCP account that GE Money was behind both. NOW I WILL BE PARTICULARLY CAREFUL to find out what company underwrites the credit card for that store

All those credit card companies are doing this to millons of people. If Lowes through GE, is lowering your credit line, pay it off and tell Lowes to go f**k themselves along with GE. Write the CEO of the company a nice letter explaining your actions. How you've been a good customer of Lowe's for years BUT because of THEIR financial arm, you will no longer be shopping there. Wherever there is a Lowes, there's a Home Depot across the block. Just make sure who HD's credit is with. The guy who posted the other day about how american express was lowering his line of credit. Fine, pay THEM off and cancel the card and use another. I shopped at best buy until I had soo many problems with hsbc, their finance company. I refuse to shop at best buy because of it and any other company that has hsbc as their finance company. I use those no interest promos all the time. With the economy being as bad as it is, these companies can't afford to be losing customers and if they can't tell the difference between a credit risk and not, they deserve to go under. Don't get mad, get even.

REPORT THEM TO THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION AND THE OFFICE OF THRIFT SUPERVISION.
THE BBB will not do anything - they have a A rating with the BBB inspite of thousands of complaints filed. That is because the BBB does not report against dues paying members.

FYI - OCT 2007 - They lost 650,000 customer records from the Iron Mountain Storage facility. They claim to have found the missing data tape - 3 months later and want us to believe the data was not accessed.

They also did not make sure their customers were aware of this potential for identity theft - I have reason to believe I may be a victim of it.

There are far too many people who are capable of accessing that data without leaving a trace.

GEMB also violates the Fair Credit Billing Act, Electronic Funds Transfer Act and Fair Credit Reporting Act. THEY MUST BE STOPPED! And the only way to do this is report them to government.
