GE Money Bank - Jewelry Accent- GEMB Attempting to charge me double payment for payment already made ripoff EL Paso Texas
Back on November 9, 2005, I sent a check #7358 in the amount of $3,800 to pay down the outstanding balance on my account. For some strange and unexplained reason, my bank (Wells Fargo) paid only $3,000 vise the $3,800 the check was made out for.
I informed GE Money Bank regarding this situation. They provided a written letter acknowledging the mistake and would take steps to correct the matter. Fast Forward to February 16, 2006. The original check for $3,800 #7358 was resubmitted by GE Money Bank to me bank for payment. My bank attempted to collect this amount from my checking account.
After informing them that they made a mistake, they took steps to correct and return the funds they removed from my account. Fast forward to March 24, 2006. Received a statement from GE Money Bank informing me that my balance, which was $772.64 after the $3,800 payment was now back up to $4,960.25. They claimed they never received my funds of $3,800 or $3,000, yet I have a photostatic copy of the check, showing that they were paid.
Each time I've talked to Managers and Supervisors' they note the mistake and say it will be corrected in 3 to 4 days. It's now been 5 months of dealing with this company and it's management. As a consumer, I'm told that I can't talk with someone in the accounting department. Yet, this problem still exist.
They are now informing me that my last payment was late, slapped a $35.00 late payment fee and say I owe a payment of $204.00. All this information is based on an incorrect outstanding balance of $4,960, which should only be $772.68.
I'm being ripped off by this company
